I live in Texas and it's not uncommon to snow one day, and be 70 degrees the next, so I get that dual climate is a great feature. But spending hundreds of dollars to retro fit it back into a vehicle, seems silly to me. If it was that important, step up to the trim level that it comes with, and not void the warranty. Some people just can't stand having cash in the bank, and look for reasons to spend it. Most of those people hang out on forums. As long as it's not my cash, knock yourself out. But I can still think it's a silly way to spend cash.

In my case, I could not do that, dual climate control comes with a sunroof. I'm 6'4" and cannot have one. You shouldn't assume someone doesn't want an "upgrade" because they couldn't afford it (i.e. step up to the next trim). Please see yourself out of this thread if you don't care.

Same here. I'm really tall, I wanted the heated seats, BSM, and auto climate but couldn't get any of that just because my head kept hitting the roof with the sunroof in it. If there was a way to install OE heated seats and auto climate control with minimal wiring, I'd do that in a heart beat.

That's my thoughts as well, between the butt warmers and the dual zone, it will make everyone happier.

my wife's 8yr old Camry has dual climate control. it's stupid that 3rd gen Tacomas don't get it starting even at the SR5 level. wonder what costs more - dual climate control or power sliding rear window?

The tech/convenience package was ~2k more IIRC. Mostly had stuff I did not want (Blind spot, rear sensors, etc). If the Dual Climate is an easy swap, and relatively cheap (~2-300$)..I'll do it.
I like it has a full LCD readout, more control, AUTO feature, and it looks aesthetically at home for a ~35k Truck.

I can confirm 100% that they DO make separate wiring harnesses.

I've sort of become the de facto wiring guru here, adding factory stuff to my SR utility package. There are most certainly missing parts of harnesses, for instance fog lights on an SR are gimped from the factory, the harness does not have the right wires for it. Adding a switch isn't that big of a deal once you've tracked down which connector to pry apart and add the proper OEM terminal back into.;)

    ANYWAYS TO ANSWER OP'S QUESTION:
It would appear that you are holding connector C30, "Clearance warning ECU assembly"
Looks like that's for the parking assist.

I could do a write up, haven't seen anyone do it to the 3rd gen yet. Just completed last Sunday and works perfect, also did nav lockout in motion override.

Thanks for raining on my parade!:crapstorm:

There are a few more connectors back behind the dash I forgot to take a picture of. What we really need is someone with the DCC to take a picture of the back and see what exact harnesses are needed.

Chill dude. Most here would agree with more reward in something like donating, a vacation, etc. But remember this is Tacoma world where a lot of guys' hobby is modding their trucks. Your statement could also include everyone dropping money on lifts, wheels and tires, etc. money could always be better spent.

Just my opinion... comments on how someone chooses to spend their money seem silly when we're driving brand new 30-40 thousand dollar vehicles and most of us could get to work and feed our families just fine in something costing half as much, donating the remainder to those in need.

Plus there's no way to know who does and doesn't already donate hundreds of hours and/or thousands of dollars to charitable organizations in their community.

I didnt disagree. I simply stated your logic is a bit flawed. Youre flaming guys for spending $1000 to mod their trucks for auto/dual climo and that they should donate the money to charity instead. I see your truck is lifted and has aftermarket wheels and tires the same could be said about the money you spent on that...just saying.

I get it. We are all driving shit people in other countries would kill to have. My comment was specifically referring to spending a grand to be able to have dual climate control, and F up their warranty, because you want your side of the truck 3 degrees different from the other side. Yes, wheels and tires are a waste also, but the climate control deal seems nuts to ME.

I thought I would miss it after 20+ years of Chevy with dual climate. I do not miss it one bit. My wife only has 2 settings
Before going back to Toyota, I spent 20 years in Chevy Z71s that all had dual climate control. Every time my wife got in, her temp was set exactly the opposite of mine. I personally don't miss dual climate control.
