Thanks so much. One other quick question if you will indulge me, how tall is the divider from top to bottom?

I haven't actually looked at how the bed divider thing works just when I built mine online after adding factory cover it wouldn't let you add bed divider.

If thats the case i will definitely get the divider?
Can you still use it all the way at the top of the bed where the cover bolts down?

Pics are on the 1st page

I have a shell on mine but it sits below the bed top rails so I imagine it would work.

so are those knobs for where the divider drops in supposed to be towards the tailgate, and all you do is turn them the other way?
    That's a cap though isn't it?
    Not the tri fold

The divider is suppose to come up and fit in the mounts, I switched them so the divider drops in.

There are 2 other knobs it comes with that I didnt install. If installed correctly how Toyota wants you to do it, it will look like this

IMG_7301.jpg Dealers aren't that smart... but the end users or the mechanics who can look at an installed setup can tell the slider mounts are reversible from left to right. They're gonna work either way. Love this divider because I can mount stuff to it. I had a custom aluminum plate milled and turned at work to setup a rotopax mounting plate. This works way more solid than that overpriced bedrail mount that rotopax offers. If no factory divider, then you would need their accessory mount.

I'm just wondering what is the hype for rotopax?
I've looked at them and sure they look nice and mount cool but holy shit are they ever expensive compared to your average jerry can.
Am I missing something about them?

No, not missing anything. But they are very secure if mounted properly and well thought out for modular storage I suppose. But if you get the divider, you can just slide it anywhere to pinch a traditional jerry can to either wall so it doesn't slide around.

for the most part when I need fuel it will be when wheeling and camping and when doing that I'll have the bed cage on. so everything will be mounting to that.

I do like the modular part to them but ya pretty steep price tag when I can probably fab up something to help work with a regular jerry can.

They are typically "mostly" designed for motorcycle, side by side, quad mounting for extra fuel etc, but evolved in the off roading scene.

I like they because they are strong, easy to mount and interlocking, and take up little space.

I even have the water one for radiator issues etc.

that is one thing I like about them. They're a lot more streamlined so when mounting on the outside of a bedcage they don't create as much drag.
Maybe if I come across them for a good price I'll buy. No way I will at retail price though lol.

Will the bed mat blow out of the back of the truck at highway speeds? I don't have a bed cover so I would be worried about it blowing out if it wasn't heavy enough.

I'm going to add the OEM Bed Divider as my next UG. Yes it's not cheap, but it fits perfectly and is well constructed. I spent too much money on my truck to cheap-out on parts I'll use regularly. Of course, I know I'll use it quite a lot (Costco and Home Depot runs). If I was going to rarely use it, I'd probably go with one of the home-made/generic setups for the $20-$40 range. The great thing about a Taco is there are options! Wish I could say that for my '14 Valkyrie...
