Mercedes X-class MEGATHREAD

I havent seen anywhere where this is an amg produced engine. Just saying there are a few ways they could go with this but their vans are very popular for even laborers because of their value. And say what you want about a car being "X rebadged as X" because it isnt a valid arguement.

 

I don't get what you mean here.

I saw in another post about it on facebook its supposed to have front and rear lockers and sport an AMG V8 engine.
Its not the sprinter. I get what you're saying that sure merc make some things that are affordable but this won't be. Its luxury. like i said its for the rich guy that wants to be 'badass' but doesn't like the G class lol.

 

Isn't the Dodge Sprinter just a rebranded Merc

You might want to read all of the info such as the Expo model with a 5 link rear end, 35's, a winch, different tailgate, flares and a turbo diesel...which with exception of the Raptor might be the most off road-ish production truck ever built and I would off-road the fuck out of it

Sorry guys I have been working in the field for the past couple of months and haven't been able to be in front of a computer very much. As it is, I did that and this on my phone. Sorry for the repost. Anyways, I wasn't saying anything in terms of practicality or would you buy (I certainly wouldn't), mearly thought that there were a lot of similarities (look wise, aka body lines) to the 3rd gen.

 

Well i am certainly jealous of your resources. I heard a rumor on a worthless auto site saying it would be available with a 3.0blutec. And we can talk cars all day if youd like. Never held a job outside of the auto business and every vehicle that doesnt say Koenigsegg on it likely shares parts with other vehicles. At which point is it not a "rebadged" whatever else. Keep in mind your 17 taco is a rebadged 2nd gen...

Its a concept so might be right.
The post I saw on FB about it was saying even the explorer version will have a V8 AMG.
But ya I saw it has the winch too.
Its wicked but really how can people think this would actually be cheap?
Its not being made as a utility vehicle. its an luxury off road vehicle. that won't be cheap.

I know you probably dont own a business the size of MB, but when a major part of your business comes in the form of utility vans for the working man, how can you not see a use for a utility style? Just a little brains and you see theres a strong case for both a luxury and utility version. Think anyone shys away from a platinum f series because you can also buy one without carpet? They still sell plenty of 100k+ "sprinters" even though you can buy a half ton stripper for sub 30k...

but yes you have a point a lot of things are all made by the same company.

Almost every sequential transmission is made by one company.
How many different automakers use Bosch made ECU and other electronics?

Not trying to argue about what its really rebranded as just can't see a mercedes off road built luxury vehicle being less than 100K.

 

The G waggon is one of the best off roading cars you can buy, as well as the range rover. Both of those brands have excellent options for off road. They are very expensive though.

 

I want one of the new 4x4 Sprinters , couple other builders have them here
