I noticed a slight crackle in my speaker in my 2017 TRD OR SC 4X4 while using bluetooth. I didn't notice it with the sat radio or anything else. Mostly noticeable during lower volumes bc when I crank it up it drowns out. Has anyone else experienced this? I do not have JBL and the truck has 138 miles on it as of today....

Haven't seen that on my 2017 with JBL and I listen to stuff with bluetooth a lot, at a variety of volumes.

I'd start with deleting / re-pairing and test, try different music sources from your current phone, and also if possible try pairing and testing with a buddy's phone.

When i used the steering controls to use Siri over Bluetooth for the first time i got a lot of crackling and her voice even cut out a little. The next day I used Siri again and it was fine. I haven't noticed it when listing to music. Re-pairing may be the fix. I will keep my ears open for it now that i know there could be a possible issues. I will report back if i hear anything.

yes I have noticed this. At first I thought it was just the song, but it continued as the songs changed.

One thing that reduced it was removing the Toyota app thing it tries to force you to use. I just use the standard TOYOTA blue tooth connection, and not the app.

It helped but its still there, both with spotify and Pandora.

I brought it up with the dealer when I had my truck in for the TSB done, he said "yea these radios have alot of iPhone issues with blue tooth"

Have not noticed this and I use bluetooth every time I'm in the truck.

Try moving the phone further away from your dash/speakers/power cables and see if that makes a difference. I've had this kind of interference in earlier cars, especially at times of "high cellphone activity" (such as immediately prior to receiving a phone call).

That was more a problem before LTE became prevalent, but could certainly reemerge in fringe coverage areas.

Thanks for the heads up, I wonder if it is just a quality problem with my phone. Thinking of uninstalling entune app because I think it's a gimmick...

*shrug* Each to their own. One man's gimmick is another man's tool.

I like having the various services that use the entune app on the phone as the data conduit. The gas price lookup has been useful, as has been the weather radar map (though I'm unsure if that's phone or HD radio). Pandora app on the HU is nice now that the entune app is more stable.

You're right...I have not spent enough time figuring it all out...I'll give it another shot. The other night we tried to use Yelp on the entune but could not bring up any results...

I seem to get the tether error app quite a bit. Any tips or tricks to keep this from happening?

Toyota's entune app sucks, at least the IOS version does. It's more stable than it was before the latest update a few days ago, but I still find I frequently have to force-quit the app on my phone and restart it.
