I don't think the 16 has enough going for it to warrant the price over an AR. But the 17 is pretty much the pinnacle of 308 dmrs.

Valid reason. I've got the SCAR 17 already though. The 16 does have some advantages over the M4 platform rifle. The Army didn't see enough of an advantage to dismiss the current inventory of the M4 though. It's a shame really, they could have used the 16 and 17 to make logistics so much simpler in the long run. (Lots of parts commonalities between the two)

Made my first purchase on Gunbroker.com - Scored a brand new Mossberg 500 Magpul Edition for $320 shipped to my FFL!

It's the 20" barrel 8 shot model. I'll probably add some sort of rail light, but besides that I'm going to keep it pretty stock... Well maybe a night sight front bead.

Pretty easy transaction so far, interested in seeing how fast the seller gets it sent out. I'll report back...

    SOLD!!!

If anybody is interested I have this for sale $240

Up for sale is a brand-new, still sealed Leupold RX-850i TRB compact digital rangefinder. This is the latest and greatest range finder from Leupold. I owned one for over 10 years and The surface was starting to get wore out from so much use so I sent it in to Leopold and they sent me this one brand-new as a replacement, in the meanwhile I had bought another one so I'm putting this one for sale.IMG_6069.jpg IMG_6070.jpg

    Alright my fellow lead slingers..

Thoughts and personal experience with the XS 24/7 Express Big Dot sights.. especially if anyone has had them on a XD-s.

I'm on my 2nd XD-s .45 (regretted selling the first one for another project) so just picked up a new one the other day. one of my gripes on the first XD-s were the sights. they were ok, but I would lose the front FO easily. either due to sight picture or lighting conditions. I have been eyeing the XS Big Dots for a bit now, and they look and seem fantastic. Very fast and easy target acquisition for close range encounters. This is my concealed carry, so this is the exact scenario it will be used in.

worth it? looks like I can get them for about $120 installed.

Anyone out here have a Beowulf .50 cal? Like it, hate it, not impressed? I searched this thread but got no hits. Every time Midway puts'em on sale I ponder it.

Those are excellent for a subcompact carry pistol where quick target acquisition is paramount. Easy to use and you find the sight picture about as fast as possible.. Install with confidence

If you are looking to slaughter some hogs, they are hard to beat. Especially in the brush. Ammo isn't the easiest to find though

I had them on a M&P9c for awhile. They were okay, not very good for accuracy shooting and I didn't like the i sight setup. I replaced them a good Green FO.

couldnt get the mosin to work right with my scope set up. I shimmed too much then to little then just right and the screws thaf hold the rail on started backin out so i guess ill lock tite and try again another day. I did pull out my .243 and got it on the paper at 50 yards. It seemed a little sporadic at first but then calmed down (could have been an inconsistant breeze but at 50 yards i dont think so) maybe the new ammo but it finally did group moa and would of had all 3 touching but i think i pulled the first one a bit.20161029_145732.jpg 20161029_145834.jpg 20161029_150340.jpg

I'm a wuss when it comes to CCW. I carry a Glock 43. The G19 with a full magazine is just too heavy for me and I notice it all day.

Awesome. Thanks for the heads up. We're an open carry state. So maybe some day
