Lengthen those breather tubes and brig them higher up in the engine bay?

I'm thinking that if the tubes were lengthened somewhat, then there is more volume (carrying capacity inside those breather tubes) and maybe it won't spill over if there is a drastic fall in temp because of cold water hitting a hot diff.

Edit: As I look at the pics, that's a lot of fluid. Maybe my theory is completely off.

I had that happen last winter. Somehow the front diff and rear diff were overfilled (which is impossible). I just drained them and refilled them. Haven't had it happen again since (to my knowledge)... (maybe I'll check them sometime this week since we're talking about it).

Do you have ARB lockers? - bad seal could cause the diff to become pressurized, forcing gear oil out the breather.

I also had a bad rear diff pinion seal. That was one of the last items repaired under warranty.

Unfortunately I'm out of warranty but hopefully the shop doesn't kill me on the repair

My theory, is that your second theory, is theoretically correct.

Didn't think of that. I do have ARB's in my ECGS built diffs.

FWIW, I have had both of the scenarios that you guys are talking about.

    1. I had a bad seal (is it called bulkhead seal?) on my ARB and it ended up driving oil out
    2. I overfilled my T-case and it spit oil out.

Neither one was really a big deal, as far as oil was concerned. I rebuilt the ARB and, in the case of the the T-Case, I just let it puke oil out until I went down to the normal level. (This was my crawlbox t-case)

Another winter project I'm working on...since it will be a while till I save the money to re gear and go arb lockers, I am playing with the idea of getting an e locker third or full axle and swapping it in so I at least have that. Anyone have thoughts on compatibility? I'm trying to research the housing sizes and fitment
