Agreed. As soon as you start down the slippery slope of "they are a big company and surely are screwing somebody over" It's gets harder and harder to see that line you used to see. As far as companies go, my humble opinion is Toyota is one of the few companies that do it the right way. Just think how long Chrysler has been putting out shit products and continue to make a profit. Lee Iacocca said "If you can buy a better car, buy it" when talking about the K car. He said that with a straight face.

Actually, the selling of the vehicle went perfect. They worked and worked to find my truck and not order it. It's pretty rare I suppose. But this nonsense.. uncalled for. I'll only go back there for warranty work.

Thankfully, there are 4 dealerships within a ~40 miles range of me.

One of the best places I ever worked (twice) was at a Ford dealer. It was an old school family owned business. The biggest problem I see is now people own 5-10 dealerships and you don't get the home town dealer treatment like in the past. I can say that I have always been treated well by Ford dealers. Toyota not so much. That is why my last 3 new vehicles were purchased hundreds of miles from home. My local Ford and Toyota dealer offer 2 options with a purchase and service. Bare skin or condom.

I picked up a OEM tri fold from another member here (he took it off at 500 miles) for sub $300 with all the hardware. Be patient and look around.

nice lookin ride Thanks for the info I've been debating if I even want to lift/level at all I figured I could run 265/75r16 without rub but wasn't sure if the tires alone would give me the look I want. Got any angle/ front view pics?

265/70/17 and 265/75/16 are the exact same size. I have 265/70/17 on 8" wide wheels on my rear wheel drive with plenty of clearance. I do have +10 offset which stick out farther than the stock 7.5" with +30 offset.

Here is the only other one I have. It's a customer of mine's truck.Keep in mind, this has aftermarket rims that stick out farther than the stock rims do. Wheels, tires, and install was $1800 at 4 wheel parts I believe.

Every manufacturer has some issues with some their vehicles. I used to sell business software, and you want to talk about bringing out a new product with issues? The difference in Toyota and Honda vs. the rest of the auto manufacturers it they consistently turn out good products, and have done it almost from day 1. They don't sell cars with illegal software like VW, or ignore a safety problem because they don't want to spend $2.00 to fix an ignition switch like GM. I can go on and on and on. If you look at the totality of each company, Toyota does a great job. No one is perfect, but when compared to their peers, they do a great job.

Mine were $975 total wheels and tires and mounting. Uniroyal 265/70/17 on 17 x 8 +10 Mambas. They ride, wear and handle great. These wheels stay clean forever.1c new shoes.jpg

seems like the setup I should aim for, may just go with the leveling and paint the wheels I got now, could I run 265/75r16 on my stock wheels? If not I'd probably move to a 17" wheel and some 265/70r17

The rims on my red truck were on sale for $87 each at 4 wheel parts. Not sure if they still are.

I would think you could go with the 265-75-16 on stock rims. I personally like the wider look of aftermarket rims. Goes back to my days in Wranglers I guess. I went too tall on my truck with a 2.5/1.5 leveling kit and 285/70/17's. When my tires wear out, I'll probably go with just a 2 inch front level and 265/75/17's. Probably put adjustable shocks, so I can raise and lower it.

Daystar 2.75 front 1.5 rear from 4 wheel parts. I lost 4 miles per gallon, I have short legs, and it's too tall for me. I would have been happy with the setup on the gray truck, had I seen it before I did nine. Mine looks great, but the mileage sucks, and it shifts in and out of overdrive on the highway.
