I Still won't be able to unless they come up with a better way to test. It'll still be against company policy. Just like Alcohol its legal but still can't be drinking at work. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out if it passes.

 

yeah they will need to find a way to figure out of you are high at work, because it will no longer be something you can test for. It won't be a illegal substance when you are not at work.

 

Doesn't matter as long as it's still federally illegal. You can still fail a drug test, at least as far as working in construction.

 

There's a lot of readi-test devices on the market. The whole point of them is to do on site detection of substance abuse, with levels.

But the stuff still stays in your system, so until your company changes their policy or as said above, comes up with a new way to test on the spot, if you pop positive on a random say bye bye to your money. I mean, once they fix it so you "aren't high at work" thing I'm down for it, but I'm not gonna risk my job over a buzz. Just had a dude get fired for drunk at work. Apparently he did it often but kept his shit to himself and everyone turned a blind eye, but then he popped off to a supervisor and they smelled alcohol...called a secondary and fired him on the spot.

 

They can test on the spot.

Oral swabs. Urine.

Not new technology. It's gotten more advanced in the last 10 years. I used to work for a toxicology laboratory and am SAPAA certified.

When I gotta test someone at work Its done onsite. If that comes up clean your GTG. But if it picks up any traces of anything I've gotta drive them to a clinic for a formal test.

 

They don't drug test where I work...
