Hold speed at around 60mph and feather the throttle a little bit. Be warned, once you hear it, you can't not hear it. It's not really a howl for me. Just a woooooooooooo.

I think it's a non issue. Annoying if you're picky. But ultimately nothing that week result in failure.

Either way when the lease is up I'm buying and selling or trading in. So don't matter to me.

Annoying if you're picky? Picky? Show me another new truck that does this. Hell show me an OLD truck (that doesn't have a differential problem) that does it.

Being annoyed that every time you drive between 55 and 65 mph you have do deal with this "WOOOOOOOOOOOOO" resonating throughout the cabin isn't being picky. Nor is it picky to be unsatisfied with Toyota's final response being "oh well, sorry it does that." If it was a $4000 truck I'd be more accepting of it. But a $30k+ BRAND NEW truck? That is just unacceptable on so many levels.

You're right. Driving a Ford truck (bought used) for 12 years that, even at high mileage surprisingly didn't have any of the issues the new Tacoma has, must have melted my brain.

Maybe some are louder than others. Mine doesn't make me mad.

Just bought a '17 Tacoma off-road, heard it around 300 miles. Will be reporting it to the dealer soon.

    Mine hasn't gotten any louder.

I noticed something today. When I drive in S5 I do not hear the noise.

The fake manual, so you slap the shifter to the left and in 5th (s5).

I'm considering ordering a TRD OR DCSB MT - won't be ready to buy until March at the earliest...hope to see this resolved by then. It's gotta be driveline angles or driveshaft tweeks.

Been very busy with work lately and getting hitched. Headed to Tahiti tomorrow with the wife for our honeymoon. We are past the two month window that I was quoted by the Toyota Regional FTS. Not really surprised as he did tell me not to quote him on the timeline but when I get back, rest assured, I will be making contact with him again and raising more hell with Toyota. Hope you all are doing well and your trucks are not giving you too many problems. Keep giving Toyota hell!!!!
