Hey, i have read a few forums on the topic but its hard to decifer (if that's how it's spelt) what is a good aftermarket exhaust for a good $$. Now i know performace is meh so im not here for that but what is is my wallet if possible. Canada has expensive prices for auto parts and i wish i could get these amazing deals from the us of a, but its an extra few benjes in comparison. So far id like to know what you guys got and personal opinions. I looked into magnaflow, borla, afe, flowmaster, msrp so far these are what im interested in.

None. Can't make a small V-6 sound good.

Do you need to know, or care?
Search it out on here, there are a few sound bites. Personally, Magnaflow sounds best to me, but sound is in the ear of the beholder, so it's really a personal thing. Depends what sound you are looking for.

Either way it will sound like a 3.5L V6. I have a Magnaflow cat back on mine and it sounds like a Lexus sports car haha. But I still like it in its own way.

I also own a 2002 Camaro SS with a Magnaflow muffler welded in and there's just no comparison to the sound of a 5.7L V8 and a little V6.

That being said, I still like the system on my truck. Gives it a nice little rumble at idle and lower rpm. Though as I said, sounds kinda like a sports car as it thins out in the higher rpm range.

Magna flow personally just sounds too "ricer" for me.. I want a deeper growl noise. I think the flowmaster exhausts sounds okay.. like everyone said the sound is all preference

They all make it sound kinda "ricer-ish". Nothing sounds good on these Toyota V6's. It's either loud (spitting through tail pipe) or obnoxious fart type sounds. Stock maybe the best.

The TRD exhaust on the TRD pro is "acceptable" actually, if I wanted a new exhaust system.

I installed the Borla System and like it, fairly quiet as I believe the muffler is packed. No drone on the freeway or city. Best thing is my wife does not complain!!!
    Very simple to install.
Cannot tell you if any gains, just can not remember.

I thought these Porsches were boxer motors? Race cars are V configured?

They have porsche flat 6s like every other 911.

The Ford GT LM GTE cars sound wicked too. YouTube videos don't do them justice...have to hear them in person. They have V6s but they are twin turbo as well

This is the video that made me fall in love with Porsche engines. I used to crank this way loud in my house on my surround sound and get goosebumps.

OP I'm putting together a parts list and driving down to Montana to pick up . Even with fuel and border fees i still saved $ the last time I went. Depending on when your planning on buying I might be able to help. Road trip! For Taco parts ... no better way to spend a day !

Straight pipes :p - I like the sound of the flomaster exhaust the best.

As for your Canada "issue", same for me. I would recommend shipping to the states and then going to pick them up. Kinek is a good service for this.

Thanks for the pointers thus far, it is possible to make a V6 sound ok and thats all im going for. Also am interested in the afe exhaust kit, would anyone have experience with that setup? I was leaning more towards magna but the price is scary.
I am down for that idea man for sure, wanted to drive to montana and see if buying a few things would be worth the trip...booze and parts you know the essentials in life. Is it really worth the border hassle you may get?

Yeah I'm not sure where all the locations are, but I'm in Vancouver and there's a depot in Blaine (about 45min from where I live). You basically get stuff delivered there, then pay a small fee when you pick it up. I believe they'll hold items for about 30 days.

I have an MBRP setup. The sound is good a low RPM and on Deceleration but freeway it drones. I have the version with the turn down at the axel but I feel like if one were to get their Dual setup, it would sound very good and complete the tone. Right now it just sound unfinished to me and I may end up having a shop extend the pipe all the way back. In hindsight, I wish I would have just went with a magnaflow or flowmaster muffler welded onto to factory exhaust.

I'm only slightly happy with mine because I paid $175 shipped for it and installed it myself in just a few minutes after cutting the pipe to fit the short bed.
