I'm looking to buy either an SR5 or a TRD OR, and I was wondering if anyone ever tried to paint their back bumper to give the trd sport look, along with a few other mods.

If so, is it possible to paint on the chrome, or do you have to buy a trd sport bumper, and where from?

    Thanks!

Sand or else blast off the chrome... Then prime, paint. Given that the the bumper is chrome and not SS. If that's the case, I don't know how to correctly paint stainless.

Also, I don't know which color you are looking into, but if you get SWB, I may be interested in selling mine...

Well, chrome is just a color over the top of usually steel of some kind. Someone with the offroad might have to pipe in with what theirs is made of because honestly I don't know.

I bought mine from OakleyTRD off his sport when he went to get his off-road bumper... If you look around and are patient you might find a deal, otherwise you'll end up having to get it painted yourself. I do not believe the dealer sells pre-painted ones, I think they're straight up primer.

I ended up painting mine one night with the help from a friend...
    CIMG0201_cfd8a9263cb4bb3c3092f427e3230d556665968b.jpg

i sanded it, applied adhesion promoter, and started spraying it "Super White"

i just have to fix that one small scratch by the left license plate light. (Garage door scratched it)

Cool, I'm in Northridge. I might give that a go, but hopefully with Black Sand Pearl paint.
