LED Flasher Upgrade

installed LED turn signals today, YES, got the hyperflashing. Tore the dash apart following the clicking sound of the "flasher" relay,and finally after not finding the relay behind the cluster I unplugged the cluster and the clicking of the turn indicator relay stopped. Does that mean the flasher unit is "INSIDE" the instrument cluster now? Think I can still modify it to adapt to the LED's? Help!

 

From everything i've read you'll need to install load resistors to stop the hyper flashing from the new LED bulbs ... check this out below

No such thing as a flasher anymore. All controlled through body control modules. The sound is created in the cluster.

 

Yes I just swapped my DRL/Turn signals yesterday and used a load resistor up front to stop the hyper flash now all works well and looks good!

 

OP has an '06 truck, but is asking this question in the 3rd gen section. I don't know for the 2016 3rd gen, but for the OPs 2nd gen truck, yes there is a separate flasher module tucked up under the dash. There are at least two threads on modifying the Daytime Running Light equipped flasher to work with LEDs so adding load resistors is not needed. For non DRL flashers (8 pin) there are aftermarket replacements to work with LEDs.
