Lol. Saban has a clause in his contract that ensures he will be one of the top paid coaches year in and year out, talk about a school being desperate.

Michigan went 10-3 last year (harbaughs 1st season) vs. saban going 7-6 in his first season with bama. I don't know his exact contract from the time but I'm sure he was one of the highest paid coaches in 2007.

Michigan might have been desperate, but they finally found the right man for the job and weren't gonna let money get in the way.

Actually, the clause somewhat locks Saban in to Bama. They dont have to keep revisiting the money thing. It also keeps Sabans agent from talking to other schools prematurely creating uncertainty for recruits, assistants, the athletic department and the 101,000+ fans that pay insane ticket prices and buy millions of dollars worth of bama stuff a year.

I guess Bama found the right man for the job and arent going to let money get in the way...................

Its a business. Saban's ROI is insane. Not saying Harbaugh's isn't. All I was saying, is that 9mil is a lot of money for a coach who hasn't won his conference YET. I understand that it's his second year, and that's kind of my point. Richt lived on 10 win seasons at UGA for quite a while and didnt make 9mil a year any year he was there....lol.

    True.

I think michigan did what they had to do to get Harbaugh including give him crazy money and a lot of clout at the university. It's still early and things could change but Michigan seems to be on a better path than the past 10 years. And Harbaugh track record is pretty good as well.

I don't know if richt got a pay bump at Miami even, they usually are pretty stingy with paying head coaches

Yea he hurt his ankle on that missed wide open throw.

The defense has really held up well. Florida has had great field position all game because our offense can't move the ball and our kickers can't kick for shit to flip the field.

If Florida were to double team Tyler Catalina and he never made it back into a game this year, I wouldn't even be mad. Kid couldn't block a mannequin that's glued to the floor.

Hours before the Giants named Ben McAdoo as Tom Coughlin’s replacement on Jan. 14, they got a call from college football’s best — and froze.

According to comedian Tom Arnold, a good friend of Giants owner Steve Tisch, the Giants were prepared to reverse course at the last second and hire Alabama coach Nick Saban after he expressed interest in the head coaching job.

“They got his deal done with [Ben McAdoo] and they are ready to sign him, and, they get a call from [boxing promoter] Bob Arum [according to NorthJersey.com] who says Nick Saban wants the job,” Arnold told ESPN’s Paul Finebaum. “So they had to stop. This is a Saturday night. They said, ‘You have until Sunday morning at 8 a.m. to say a definite yes. Tell us what he needs for money.’ ‘Well, he needs $10 million to start with and this is the deal. He has to get it approved by his wife right.’ Well, he has to get it approved by his wife right this second because we have a coach on the string here. But if he wants to do it, it has to be right this second. So he had until Sunday morning at 8 a.m. and it didn’t work out. But it was close.”

I just find it hard to believe Catalina is our best option because he sucks. Hell I think McKenzie could hold up better. I've been saying all year if we only had a decent o line we'd be pretty good. I feel like we're that close as bad as we look.

Give Ben Cleveland some damn snaps. Even if he doesn't know the plays, tell him to stop whoever is coming toward him. Easy enough.

Really is too bad that GBO couldn't keep his sh*t together. I'd really have enjoyed the night of the Alabama game and again tonight.

It's ok, Big Orange.... maybe next year is your year....

Fucking Tennessee.. they make it hard as hell to be a fan. This is supposed to be the down side of the schedule where they coast into the SEC championship game once UF loses to either Arkansas or LSU, possibly both. Instead they collapse epically. Fucking pathetic.
