My friend has been patiently waiting for his Cement to come in. He's # 5 on the list and this dealer is allocated 7. They told him December at the latest.

Spoke with him today and he said the dealer called him and told him it might be January or February now because the port told them that Toyota slows production towards the end of the year. This sounds fishy to me. Thought I would drop in and see what the TW crowd thinks of this explanation.

I've been told January, February at the latest...but until the vehicle is delivered I'm skeptical. Costs the dealer nothing to make promises, and keeps the customer on the hook.

When were you put on the list and were you told the same thing about production slowing?

Hello, been debating between a TRD Pro and the Colorado Z71 midnight edition. I kept trying to justify why I would be ok with the Colorado and in the end it was a sign that I wouldn't have been happy with it. Picked up my white TRD Pro from an awesome dealership about 2hrs away. Transaction was one of the easiest and painless considering there was a trade involved as well. The drive home was great and smiled the entire way!! Anyway, glad to be part of the board and looking forward to the mods.

One question I did have. I thought power seats were standard on the Pros? Mine didn't have it and the dealer said the TRD Pros actually don't have them. Is it an option?

I think for the price those are going for, at least that I have seen, he would rather get a band new. THe reason for posting in here was to try and find out if the dealer is giving him the run around or if others have heard that as well.

I don't know his quoted price. I know he said he wanted every option.

Which dealer did you get yours at?

Don't sweat it; power seats are not an option on the Pro.
    Enjoy your new Taco.

Totally agree with you there. Didn't come here to complain, sorry if it came across that way. Just posted to ask if others had heard the same thing.

You didn't come across to me as a complainer, but I know what is like to want something badly at the same time everyone else wants it, only to pay ridiculous prices or settle for less than what you really wanted because it's a trend and when it dies off, you find out you could have waited and could have made out much better by just stepping aside from the crazy stampede.
It's also why I've learned patience is our best friend

    Cheers!

Allocated 7 Pro's ? Seems high from the total amount being built this year. Is the dealer a really high volume dealer? My suggestion that I have made before is to do a search on Cars.com and find one with in a reasonable distance. There really isn't a reason to wait and be held hostage from a stealership who may or may not get a Pro in. If someone really wants to buy a Pro they are out there on dealer lots. You just have to do a little leg work to make it happen.

Nope. There's no power seats on Tacomas. The Pros have power rear window though. Welcome! You'll have fun offroad! :D

They are out there. I've been checking cars.com and contacted dealers within a certain radius. Some were already spoken for but many were not. The one I got was sitting there for over a week. I actually got a decent trade and price for the truck. I had to drive 2 hours but I got what I was looking for. The local dealers around me had some in stock but would play games like adding dealer installed options such as the paint protection, etc. which they wouldn't let you take off. They know these trucks would sell so instead of doing the "market adjustment" they will add these options to push more profit. Not saying it's wrong but I personally will not buy these forced add ons. If you have a trade, most will also play the game of low balling the trade and not moving from msrp on the truck again for demand reasons. Fair enough but again I just waited for the right deal with the right dealership. I guess my point is that these trucks are out there but you just have to do some searching and making calls. Make sure to call or email since some of the pricing posted was lower than their actual selling price. I almost made a 500 mile trip to another dealership that posted the "incorrect" price.
