Spent a week in the woods recently but didn't take many pics. Here's a couple that I thought turned out pretty cool.

Hunting season is in full swing and my dirt miles to pavement miles ratio has gone up to roughly 3:1. Love this shit!!!!

Did a little flexing today on my way home from a scouting trip. Took a couple pics and then took advantage of the extra space to check things out underneath.

I immediately noticed a big problem. The top of the dust boot was ripped off of the passenger side rear shock and there was a pretty good sized gouge in the bottom of the shock body. It appears as though when the suspension goes into full droop the geometry changes just enough to that the shock body has been hitting the corner of the flip kit plate when the shock compresses back to normal ride height.

I'm pretty bummed I didn't catch this until now but when the truck is sitting level the boot comes back up over the shock body and there's plenty of clearance around the plate.

    20160928_093359.jpg 20160928_093950.jpg

Shock doesn't appear to be damaged internally and I can cut or grind that corner of the flip plate off as a fix.

Well what started as a simple tire rotation job ended up quite the shit show today. Started with the passenger side. Figured while I had both wheels off I would address the issue with the shock hitting the u bolt flip plate. Took the grinder to the corner and knocked off a quarter inch or so. Hit it with a shot of wheel paint to prevent rust and done deal. Also taped the dust boot back on since it got pretty torn up.

    20161001_153118.jpg

Started on the driver side and the fun began. Pulled the wheels off and noticed a big nail in the rear tire. It didn't look like it was in very far and wasn't leaking. Pulled it out and the leak started. No biggie. Figured it was a good time to use my ARB plug kit so I went to work. What a piece of garbage that kit is! Barely got the reamer in. Went to jam the plug in and the entire shaft bends in half. Haha. So I say screw it and throw the spare on the front and rotate the other to the back.
Drop the truck down and start to torque the lug nuts. Rear done I move to the front. I have 255/85 st Maxx tires. Instead of getting a fifth for a spare I just bought a used 275 and mounted it to a stick wheel. First thing I notice on the front is the spare is resting against the LR UCA!

Sooooooo I jack the truck up again, move the rear to the front and spare to the rear. What a shit show. Lol. All that work and in the end I still have to take it to a shop to fix the tire and rotate that side.

Some days it just doesn't go your way. But at least now I know I need to get a 255 spare and I didn't find out the hard way on the side of the highway.

Spent another week in the woods on my deer hunt last weekend. Found a spot at the end of an old 2 track road to camp, once again making to RTT worth its weight in gold. We were hunting right out of camp which was perfect! I set the tent up with the annex and floor for the first time and was pretty impressed. We fit a full sized cot in the room along with all our clothes and crap. It worked out really well.

On the 5th day of the hunt I was blessed to take this amazing buck.

Gave the truck some love today with my buddy Keith. Dude is a master at making scratches disappear. We decided to just hit it real quick with a medium level buffing compound to see how bad the paint was.

Got 80% of the pinstripes out. After hunting season we will probably hit it with a 3 step process and make that bitch look brand new again!

Been having an amazing 2017 hunting season so far. On New Year's day a new lady friend of mine smoked this big boar with her bow. This girl has zero hunting influence. She decided she wanted to try it out so she bought a bow, taught herself to shoot and bam!

    Ultimate_HDR_Camera_20170102_051845.jpg

Yesterday I took this same girl out deer hunting and she damn near killed this bruiser with a 6" drop tine!

    20170107_230856.jpg

As for me all I've been able to shoot is a cool pic of the sunrise behind the truck. Haha

    Nice man!

2017 hunting is definitely off to a good start. Snagged my limit in Dove this past weekend, plus 2 Eurasians. And managed to break my shotgun :anonymous:
