I bought the Rugger Cover 2 from the dealer. Very happy with it

It has 2 aluminum blocks per side that are tightened onto the rails.

You can use all the rest of the rails around those blocks just fine

Cue gratuitous 'tonneau cover shot' from my weekend trip up to Georgia this weekend ;)

When rolled up, how much does it protrude into the bed, say measured from the front (outside) edge of the front bed rail? Or, can the rolled-up cover be raised above the bed rail surface? I carry bikes in back, facing backwards and the rear tires are approximately tangent to the front wall with about 2" clearance, but that space increase quickly above the curvature of the tire. Thanks.

Probably 4" or so. The header rail with the cover rolled up on it comes off by sliding a latch on each side anyways. Check it out.

I have the truxedo truxport. I has 3 small clamps of the rail. Limits the movement of the stock tie downs but I essential still have use of the rail. Plus it was WAY cheaper then a lot of other options.

    The factory cover allows that.

The Truxport certainly is inexpensive ... how does the security seem? Can you just lift the sides away from the Velcro and reach insid, either to remove items from the bed or to unlatch it at the back?

You can lift the sides a bit. I had to go and check it. Tough to get my hand in though. The back of the cover locks from the inside and I couldn't really reach the mechanism. With the gate locked it would be hard to get into unless they were going to just cut the top.

I am hoping for out of sight out of mind safety.

I just installed the original Access roll-up tonneau cover on my 2017 TRD Sport. The factory bed rail cleats are useable.

I just got my Undercover Elite today, but I can't get the key to work. Did you use your factory tailgate key?

Great. Now I'm wondering if the place I bought it from broke it. They removed the sticker but did not code the key. They said I could do it, but when I tried to insert the key for the first time it would not push in all the way. I've tried it several times with no luck.

UPDATE: I called Undercover first thing this morning, told them what was happening, and they said the lock would not work with my type of key. They are overnighting me a new lock with it's own key, which I guess is ok, but I really liked the idea of unlocking my tailgate and cover with one key.

I'd take that crap back and make them key it. That's almost 100% why I went w/the Elite, less keys.

I'm thinking of getting this cover ... could you add a side shot please ? And is there a big gab between the cover and the truck on the sides ?
