Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
Iron sites are nice. I'm faster to target with iron over optics.
But, I was just out sighting in an eotech and a Trijicon. Both hold a very nice group but between the 2, I prefer the Trijicon 100%. Certain sun angles hitting the lens made it impossible to see through the eotech.

Oh hell yeah I would take a Trijicon (I assume you are talking ACOG) over just about any other ar sight.

I like irons too. I am one of the few left that loves the carry handle irons.

LOL I got those mags for free. So I'm not complaining! And they functioned perfectly for 200 rounds so I'm not complaining there either.

As for the rail. At some point I do want an ACOG or an Eotech holo sight. For now I'm actually waiting to hear from Windham Weaponry. The hand guard with the rail comes factory installed but is made by Diamond Head. It's actually very loose (about 1/8" twist movement). I wasted a lot of rounds trying to figure out why I couldn't get the iron sights sighted in before I realized the hand guard was twisting while I was shooting.

They are good mags, people in the ar world just like to give them shit.

The diamond head barrel nuts are known to be wonky from time to time, I bet that is your issue. Good choice on the windham though.

Wonky barrel nuts? Is that something I can tweak/tighten or something Windham has to replace/fix for me? I haven't really looked into it that far yet.

If you have some tools and a little know how I'd at least take a look at things. I'd start by checking if the two allen screws right behind your fore grip there are tight. Those attach your hand guard to the barrel nut, and if they are loose the rail can move without the barrel nut moving.

If those are tight it is likely that your barrel nut itself is too loose and moving. So if you remove the hand guard by taking those 2 Allen screws out and sliding it off, you will see the barrel nut and can see if it is loose. If the barrel nut is loose you will need a few special tools to tighten it.

The video below outlines the installation of a hand guard using the same system so you can see how it works and what I am talking about.

If you have any questions or concerns feel free to pm me.

I got an email from Windham this morning indicating exactly the same thing. Thanks! :)

Okay, so yesterday late afternoon (Halloween) I head out to go sit out the evening around Nelson (past York) with the rifle just cause I had a little time. I noticed I needed a little fuel, so there is one gas station off York Rd. near the bridge. It's 100% pay inside, and only one grade of fuel- Premium no ethanol. I go inside and dig out a $20 bill and give it to the clerk.

Look how much fuel $20 bought me on Halloween.

    No shit...

Drove up to "Big Bear Lake" yesterday afternoon. This is up "Little Bear Rd". If you don't know where it is you can literally drive right passed it and never know the 'lake' is there. Even a nice little flat depression you can hide a tent in for camping! Might have to hit this location up in the spring time with the kids.

Decided to show the kids what driving over a rock looks like. LOL They've never been off-road before so they thought this was impressive.

It was an absolutely beautiful day! Wish we had more time to spend to go hiking.
