Although you can't tell anymore cause I already dirtied it up again. A carpet cleaner really helps when you already have your seats out. Took like an hour to do the entire cab and make it sparkly. @m3bassman I would check your wiring grommets and maybe see if one of your floor pan plugs was jostled out of place.

There is a c clip that goes on BEFORE the manual hub!! the bolt an washer are for add front ends and the pre-tacoma pickups.

The threaded hole at the end of the cv goes unused. I am 100% sure. let me find the fsm page.

Haha, no! I really don't want to take my hub apart to show you that's wrong so here's a pic from another member...

Bolt and washer in question, they are just there to stop the CV from partially engaging the splines when they stretch during flex and turning. You're partially right though, there is a C clip holding the other side in the axle tube and a looser fitting circlip that holds the shaft in the rear of the hub body.

My tacoma has no bolt there. And the fsm says nothing of removing said bolt to remove the axle or hub. I thought something was missing until i reseached the crap out of it. my pre-tacoma pickups with manual hubs had that bolt. My tacoma does not.

    Paging @BDN
Do you have the little golden bolt in the end of your CV like every other manual hub Tacoma in addition to the circlip?

I was the first to take apart my hubs and both mine had the bolt it seems like it's just backup retention for the free wheeling assembly.

You should have both, a c clip near the bronze bushing in the rear (the c clip goes around the CV shaft BTW) and the golden bolt that goes on last when your inserting it all together.

The shaft of the cv has a notch for the clip but when its in the hub it doesnt stick out far enough to put a clip on it

wait i misread that. I jave a clip on the back of the hub that goes around the splines the shaft engages with that spins freely
