    the key take away is...

"Greenbaum met his husband at an Apple fan group in the mid-90s. When they started dating, the couple hung out in Mac computer labs together as a form of courtship.
"Most other couples would go to movies. We mark a key point of our relationship when we both decided to go to Macworld [a conference in California] together in 1995," he said.
The couple now travels to Apple stores across the country, taking photos in front of each one as if the computer stores were national monuments. They always check out new Apple products, although sometimes they wait for a second model to come out before they buy. When the iPhone 3GS debuted, they waited in line at a nearby Apple store from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. to buy the phone.
"It's a part of your identity," he said. "People are going to recognize you more by the computer you use and the phone you carry than by the car you drive."

    lol

***Attention**** The article is real, but I'm just teasing all Mac users, if you really are ghey then good for you otherwise don't get all butt hurt by a joke ***Attention***

^^ ouch that sucks man. I have switched over to my first mac, and I must say I love it. My GIRLFRIEND had gotten her laptop about a two months before and now greatly regrets it. She has had to take it in for servicing already and now frequently just uses mine instead.

Ain't gotta clue. Funny how you either love it or hate it. Ya, there more expensive. Kinda like Sony and a few others. They sell their stuff only through a few outlets and only provided those outlets maintain the price they set. Then those Mac-ies have the audacity to snub their noses at the PC guys. The PC guy says mine is way cheaper. The Mac-ie just smiles. He or she knows the truth. You gets what you pay for. Continual software issues, bugs, frozen computers, and viruses. What a deal.
I don't know how many of my relatives and friends online have complained about having to take their PC's in to have that little wormy thing taken off their hard drive.
Now those Apple/Mac guys may not like the price as much as a PC but you see damn few making a switch to the other side. That must tell you something.

Personally, Have 2 laptops and a desktop mini and oh by the way, no virus protection for the last 15+ years and never, never, a virus.

Ok, it's the PC's guys turn now. What can you say next. Something like "Well mine plays games better...."
Hehehehe, go ahead. Give er a shot.

At least I'm not ghey :)

And programmers can write viruses for Macs but why would they... Macs are only 8% of the market

Essentially all personal computers are the same... only the software is sort of different. MACs are not immune to problems... they just have less problems because all the components are proprietary. It’s very difficult to make a product that works on a extremely diverse set of platforms such as windows does. While some computer manufacturers disregard Microsoft’s warnings and install them on limited machines causing problems... but the issues are what you get for the benefit of versatility.

PC's come in an infinite amount of configurations

My options are infinite for every piece of the machine and software… yours are not.

but thats not the point of the article... the point is that Mac users are ghey?... or obsessive... :)

You personally may not be ghey, butt watch out for your buttie. There's plenty of ghey's for you PC guys. See we only have 8% of the market share so you must have the other 92% of the ghey market. They just haven't come out yet. Don't bend over or you might find that extra ram...

You do realize the only reason you dont get any virus or worms is because people who write viruses want to affect the masses, (hence choosing the windows platform). Not because macs are immune to viruses? If *everyone* makes the switch and macs are now the most common platform, guess what platform the virus writers are going to target....

Ive used both over the years both personally and professionally, and fixed both. If you dont know anything about computers and want something that wont break (as often), buy a mac. If you are somewhat computer savvy, know how to run a firewall and virus protection software and want better performance at a lower price (relative to mac), buy a PC.

Its not which is better, its which is better for what you want to accomplish.

With a FREE virus/worm protection software, and using the firewall built into my wireless router my windows computers have been virus free for 4-5 years now.

Lastly, for anyone who says "macs dont break" http://www.engadget.com/2009/11/17/laptop-reliability-survey-asus-and-toshiba-win-hp-fails/

    Agreed.
I will admit I bought my first mac back when I was forced to learn to use a computer. Yes, way easier, way more user friendly to the masses (look where PC has come from with windows to catch up with apple). Have I ever had issues with my mac, oh yes. Was the support excellent? yes. Is it now? not as good, they charge now for things that we used to get for free.

One thing about apple software is that while they too have their glitches, their software development is typically much better as they don't try to release prematurely just to line their pockets.

I use a PC daily at work and at home. This is not a choice, but part of my job. Ain't it a great thing that we can have a preference. Hell if we didn't have choices/competition could you just imagine the garbage we would be using.

Isn't California one of those states that condones that stuff? lol

As you said 8% is a pretty small number. Could be your neighbor or four wheeling buttie.
