18 or 20 in wheels on 35 in tires?

Hey,

just a quick thread to see what others think. I might be putting a 6 in fab tech lift in my 09 Tacoma soon and am a little unsure what size wheels I should run. I am set on running 35 in km2 tires (worked well on my old tacoma with same lift) but can't decide between the 18 in or 20 in KMC monster wheels? What would you pick or suggest?

I feel like i should go with the 18's because they are cheaper, I heard you can save on gas with a smaller wheel but same size tire? And when I go off road it seems like their is less potential for damage with an 18 in wheel compared to a 20 in wheel?

I'll try to include a photo of the KMC monster for those of you who are not familiar with it. If anyone has any photos of a tacoma with a six in lift with these wheels in 18 or 20 on 35's I would appreciate a few pics to compare?

Go with the 18s. Good looking set of wheels. More rubber always looks better. Thats just my opinion...

 

i personally like 20's on 35's but it depends on the look your looking for.

 

more rubber between rocks and rims for 18's = better for offroad
20's nicer looking = better for mall-crawling

 

18's. DO IT.

 

I disagree. 18's are better for off-roading AND are better looking.

Look at wwarmachine's rig. Its a sweet rig but looks like it has mud terrain tires that can't be aired down for muddy conditions. It's a mall crawler with mud tires. Just looks confused - in my opinion.

 

Go with 18's on 35's.

 

Fair enough .. 18's look better b/c better function, function>form in my opinion
