I mounted my CVT today, finally, and I was worried about it being low. But in all reality the annex is just that, and annex. Put some storage stuff in there if you don't want to brave the elements. You could even sleep 3 people in there. I have mine mounted on some Relentless fab bars and its low. The Velcro in the annex allow you to shorten it though. Suites my needs just fine.

@JediScout Thanks. That's the same setup I plan on doing: the tall Relentless bars

I'll get some photos up soon, maybe by tonight. The relentless bars (2 w/quickfist tabs, powdercoated) took approx. 5-6 weeks to receive. When I called for an update or emailed, I was met with a friendly response. So if you don't have them plan accordingly. I literally received them the week before we needed them.

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere but there's far too many pages...

About how long does it take to set the tent up? Is it fairly easy?
Also, I'm assuming keeping them below the top of the cab (so mid height bed rack) still decreases the MPG but not as much as on the roof?

    Thanks!

So let me get this straight, you are too lazy to look for the info you want but expect someone to answer your questions when you have already stated "I'm sure this has been discussed before"

I tried to find the information. I've looked through several pages (beginning, middle, and end), but it's mostly just people talking about their tents. I've also been on several websites. None of them have said how long it takes to set the tent up. It was just a simple question.

To set up new tent which included mounting rails to bottom and ladder maybe 30 min. I did it Friday with a friends help. Btw it was my first RTT.

I think he was asking about first install setting everything up, but you are right about different times. It takes me 10 min to set up my CVT on my bedbars.

Setup would really be dependent on hardware, and specifics of your ride. I went with the Relentless Fab bars (Awesome by the way), and the CVT Mt. Shasta I mentioned before. Here she is. Took me an hour the other night to mount. The wife helped me lift the tent on the rack. I used the previous ideas in this thread to secure it. Basically the loop bolts with a pad lock on it, and the muffler clamps. It's rock solid thus far. Opened her up yesterday, and sprayed the tent down real good as instructed to allow the seams to swell up. Total 1st time setup with annex took about 30 min. Washed the mattress and put our beddings in it. In this photo we have two sheets, a thick comforter, an afghan (the blanket, not a person, for those that would wonder), 3 pillows, the tent stakes, and other hardware inside the tent all folded up. I used the rug stop vinyl material as a buffer for condensation. If that sucks I'll just buy the stupid anticondensation after this trip. Planning on posting in the trips in a few weeks, and doing a gear review.

When I got mine, I practiced setup and take down a few times and used a stopwatch to track it since I was curious. CVT Mt. Shasta. 7-1/2 minutes set up, 10 minutes take down. With a little more practice could knock a minute off of both. That is without setting up the annex.

With the Mt. Denali Summit Series being 87" long, do you know of any issues with trying to mount it to a standard bed rack for a DCSB? I haven't seen any other mention of the Denali on the forums except your post, and I am not very familiar with CVT's mounting dimensions. I can find overall size for closed and open tent, but I cant find specs for where they require support bars.

EDIT, I just re-read and you said summit series Renier.... never mind.
