I have rattle-elimination on my weekend todo list. I have one on top of the dash near the right pillar, one near the glove box latch and most of my center console creaks and rattles. This car is noisier than the Wife's crap-built Mini Cooper.

    Blower squeak occasionally
Clutch pedal squeak in hot weather
    Leather clutch boot creaks
Loose piece in driver clamshell that rattles when the driver door is closed.

All-in-all, pretty good for a pickup that has been wheeled, been in two wrecks, and has 22k miles.

Mine has about 38k miles and the only weird sound I hear is a light tapping-knocking sound coming from the bottom of my rear doors. It comes and goes when I make a turn.

At 10K miles, I've got a rattle that sounds like plastic cracking. It only happens as I come to stop (one crack noise), and then once again when I accelerate from a stop. Sounds like it is coming from behind my rear drivers side seat (double cab). Makes no noise over bumps. Anyone else have this? Took everything out of my storage behind the seats and the noise still persists.

Oh yeah, I also have the behind the glovebox buzzing/rattle.

Overall this truck has less rattles than my old WRX did tho.

I guess I got a good one. I'm at 13k miles and mine's drum tight. In fact, this is the first vehicle I've ever owned...and I've had a lot of cars in the last 25 years....that doesn't have a single squeek or rattle when the weather is really cold...as in single digits!

Where do I begin...... i have an 08 and all began at around 13-15K miles. i now have 21K
I have the infamous rattle behind the pass side airbag and another between the dash and radio that gets pretty loud over gravel. a rattle at the front pass seat belt top mechanism. my rear rattles a little over bumps. the only thing i can find are that the plastic in the rear wheel wells have loosened a little. plastic clips still secure though.
i have considered driving my truck into a tree! i just need to take the time to fix the dash rattles. not much i can do about the seatbelt mechanism.

I wonder if it matters which plant your Taco came from. Mine is from Mexico

I got 21k and mine is starting to have a rattle from the paasenger side dash. It sounds like it is right beneath the top of the dash. it only does it on rough roads and is not verry loud. im goin to fix it when i get back down south to cold in minnesota to be working on a truck at night.

My 2005 TRD 4 door 4WD had 103,000 miles when I traded it in last month... Only one rattle... one bolt that holds down the bed liner was loose. That's all! On Tacoma #3 now... and they keep getting better: Viva TRAC and A-TRAC!

I have a Taco that has zero rattles and zero miles. Nah, I'm just shittin' ya, it just turned up 60,000 km and it has some shake, rattle, and roll. We bought them to drive them and I suspect they are gonna rattle if we drive 'em hard enough. I'm sure all those other (Ford, GMC, Chev, Dodge, Honda) builders rattle a little too if you use them!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Toyota!!

Of course it is... why are you here instead of at your Toyota dealer so they can fix them all... for free!

You have 3 years or 36,000 miles to get any of those things fixed... as long as they aren't from abuse or an accident, naturally.

I am planning on bringing it to the stealership. I hate doing this. I have wasted many days with these folks. They never fix things that day and i cant go without a vehicle for long as my job requires it. It takes approx 2 visits to solve each problem. Now i have a laundry list of things....hope it doesnt take a week. I am sure i will get the standard "we couldnt hear/see a problem" line....

At 13k miles I made a comment to my wife that my truck was rattle free, as I'm kind of OCD about that type of thing. I must have jinxed it, because at 14k one rattle after another began. I've removed my glove box probably a dozen times by now, installing tape, nylon zip-ties, and foam. I've also removed the passenger side door sill, doing the same. I estimate I've spent 10-12 hours diagnosing rattles of various sorts. The frustrating thing is, just as I get one taken care of, another one begins. Right now I have 2 rattles that I cannot find, and 1 incredibly annoying buzzing sound that I cannot seem to isolate.

A week ago I had a loud creaking sound, coming from somewhere up in the corner where the dash meets the windshield on the passenger side. I finally figured out that it was the piece of plastic at the corner of where the hood meets the windshield, right behind the radio antenna. Pushing on it produced an incredibly loud creaking sound that you could easily hear in the cab.
