Good to hear from ya man! Be safe out there, and we'll set up a wheeling trip when you get back for sure!

Like Derrick said, what do you want for them?

    And are they OEM?

They seem interesting. I'm sort of leaning towards your opinion too, but they have pictures of folks hooking steel to them just fine so idk really.

As a family we draw names and just do like 50$ xmas gifts each year for whoever we draw so I'm trying to decide what I want to ask for.

And a lot less quality. I've had cheaper ones and I like this one, the tools are 10/10 quality wise. I'll have this tire repair kit for the rest of my life these tools are so beefy.

I like them. Interesting about the breaking strength of 32k lb. Is that the conservative number or actual. Most steel shackles I see are 4500lb or 6500lb rated. I know that is the conservative number, but steel (still). Making my 12k winch impossible to use without breaking someone's code.

Yeah that seems like a huge breaking strength, but to Dave's point above...is steel against the rope going to mess it up and would it really only be that strong with like a strap on it?

Not automatically. The metal hook has the potential to get messed up and have burs in it but really if you keep up with your gear and slow down before a recovery to inspect the hook you won't ever have a problem.

Do it, just treat them the same was as a synthetic winch line. Don't let them rub against an abrasive surface, check for any metal they come into contact with for burs, and wash them out if they get dirt in them after each wheeling trip.
