Well the RebelTaco is, of course, long gone...but almost 1 year later to the day, and I'm back in a Tacoma. The diesel game was fun, but I miss having the agility and capability of a smaller gas truck. I'm no longer working for Rebel Off Road, but rather at Magnaflow Performance Exhaust here in Oceanside, CA. The truck is a toy for me now, as I vanpool to work and back everyday from Orange County.

Enter "Taquito". My newest project. Ugly lookin' sumbitch...for now...

    The details:
    2005 Reg Cab 6 lug
    PreRunner SR5
    2.7L 2TR-FE
    5 speed manual

Total Chaos +3.5" Front Long Travel kit
    FOA 8" Coilovers with reservoirs
Giant Motorsports "Link Killer" SUA rear suspension kit
16" King 2-tube bypass shocks with reservoirs
    Bolt-in simple bed cage

SNF Motorsports front tube bumper (not installed yet)
    (3) 7" round HID lights
Glassworks 6.5" fiberglass fenders and bedsides

Method Race Wheels Double Standards with Machined lip
    35x12.50x17 Toyo Open Country M/T's

    G2 4.56 gears
    Doug Thorley Header
    Magnaflow cat-back (not installed yet)
    K&N Cold Air Intake

    Pioneer double-din head unit
    10" Subwoofer behind passenger seat

"Hillary for Prison 2016" rear window decal :D

The plan: Clean up all the surface rust (it sat on Coronado Island for a year with unpainted surfaces  ). Swap FOA's for Kings, double shear the bed cage shock mounts, add hydraulic rear bumps, add front secondary shock hoop, add King triple bypass front shocks, get new tires at some point (like 10% of these), throw a locker in the rear end, back-half the rear and lose the bed, cab cage possibly, engine cage possibly, URD supercharger possibly....list goes on until it's another RebelTaco lol.

I just wanna go fast in the desert again! :D

Enjoy, I'll try to update this one more than the last build thread.

SNF bumper is mocked up, tried shopping up a few side supports to see which one I like more...opinions? Leaning towards top right.

Hows that rear end working out for you boss? I saw they offered a bolt in model and it seemed super simple rather then the other kits.

I like the top right tubes too, it kinda hides that white body material a lot better

I've narrowed it down to #2 and #3. Leaning more towards #3 for now.

Installed the King 2.5 16 bypasses today temporarily. Still need to be revalved and resealed.

I need to also fix this bed cage or build a new one. Single shear upper mounts and a ton of rust makes it terrible lol.

I also bolted down the skid plate today just so it doesn't look super weird until it's finished.

What kind of locker are you looking at for the rear? I'm going to be buying one soon and was thinking about the powertrax no-slip locker. I like your truck though - pretty much has what I would like for suspension in mine eventually. :)
