Dang OP. I'm glad to hear that you weren't hurt any worse and I hope everything works out in your favor as far as the settlement goes.

Didn't read through all 7 pages.
I assume it was the other drivers fault?

A similar crash killed my last truck (2004 Dakota). T-boned a mustang exactly where you hit her also between 45 and 50mph but I ended up on my side. Luckily, I was able to climb up and out the passenger door and come out with only a scrape on my arm.

To the OP: By now, I'm sure you have another vehicle (didn't read all 7 pages, just the first one). Glad you're okay. This one hit me (no pun intended) right in the feels. I remember the sound, the smell, the anger... Like you said, you were able to walk away and that's what matters.

***Edit*** My apologies for those of you who saw this original post. It was a little distasteful and I'm sorry for that. I will leave some of it here because part of it is still relevant to this thread, but I have removed the other portion. Again, my apologies to all, including the OP.

Indeed, they are. I walked away with just rugburn on my left elbow from when it hit the window when I rolled.

Well, I was up yesterday AM at 4:00, out of the house at 4:30, an hour drive to the airport, 4 hours after take-off of the first flight I'm picked up at my destination by a salesman, another hours drive to his dealership where a deal was completed, and 11.5 hours / 1050Km of driving I'm home 25 hours after leaving the house. With MY truck. I love being able to use those two words again - MY TRUCK.

I'll post pics once I've had a chance to wash the road grime and salt off it.

Well, I washed it yesterday. Didn't get a chance to snap any pics while it was clean, as I was supposed to meet up with my brother for some hunting this afternoon, so what the heck, why not a couple pics with a bit o' mud on 'er. Out in the real world, where the men are men, and the trucks are Toyotas. :)

Someone was killed in your accident and your biggest bummer was your truck on its side?

    Fuck man.

I've honestly been considering trading to a Tundra. I like em.

Well, I'd say there is a lot to like. As a die-hard manual transmission guy, the biggest hesitation I had was the auto - well, let me tell you, I'm impressed. Not only does it shift beautifully, it holds back well, very well when manually downshifted in "Select" mode, and response is very positive - no needless revving or lag.

I averaged 13.2L/100 Km on my highway trip home with it - that's 17.8 mpg (US) for you guys south of the 49th. That's in BC terrain, with 10PR tires. I'd have been happy to get that in the tacoma as well.

Sounds harsh, but they were all meth heads and the driver was high, so yeah... More upset about my baby in the ditch.

Someone died in the accident (their fault or not), and the guys on the truck taking pics with devil horns....

Fucking callous to say the least.

@landphil - glad you're doing ok and congrats on the new to you Tundra. My wife is taking over the Tacoma as her daily early next year as I'm going to move up to a Tundra as well.

New truck looks good and I'm glad you're well after watching the accident on video.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing but I didn't want to give him any more attention or :stirthepot: any more than it needed to be.

Glad the OP found a truck he's happy with. I'd be sad to see my Tacoma go as well... but I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with a full-size either. Probably wouldn't go Tundra myself, but either way, moving on to greener pastures.

@Fitz235, Me on the truck with the horns was taken BEFORE the passenger died. All of the other occupants had been transported to the hospital and I stayed back to give a statement to the police. I was still on the adrenaline spike from surviving the flip.

@snowmanwithahat , I am not looking for attention, I was simply identifying with the OP as a crash victim myself. I realize that some of my post was distasteful, and I have edited it. My apologies to anyone who I have offended.
