Cut and turn them. If i can do it and not fuck the axle up, anyone can, no tru bar needed. Be aware that you would possibly have the steering links hitting the frame, so you may have to notch that. ZUK has a good write up on his build thread over on yota tech on how to set the caster.

Haha thanks guys. Like I said, shims are just temporary to figure everything out. I have another axle just sitting under the truck so I will try cutting and rotating that axle. We also said the same thing about the spring perch and may try that and see what thay does.

Got the frame notched for the new pitman arm and all the suspension figured out. Just waiting on new high steer arms to do the 5th stud then can rebuild the knuckles and put the leafs back together and figure out ride height.

Havent been on here in a while but got some big updates. FInished the 5th stud and got the truck driving again. Alignments a little off as well as the steering wheel so will have to go back for that again. Took one leaf out the front spring pack. Trucks new frame height is around 23 3/4- 24 inches. Backs a little low but cut some 3/8s plate to add to the back. If thats not enough, Ill get another chevy spring and add it. Truck drives really well now and its nice having up travel. I do have an annoying clunk. Think its the military wrap shifting but not sure. Steering box is also shot. Just spits fluid anytime its in 4wd. And the tranny may or may not be leaking into the tcase again. Its slow so Im just watching it. Pretty done working on the truck. Its wheeling season here and a couple trips coming up. Just did Rocky Gap again on Friday and truck did great. Will post pictures later on. But also did the daily mod and picked up an 88' XR600r. Already street legal so plan is to start riding that to work and take a week and turn it into a scrambler/tracker. Its fun to ride and should be cool when im done. Already ordered the tank but its going to be slow as I just spent a ton of money on parts for the truck and other stuff.

Its pretty ugly now but should be cool when its done.

I'm diggin the tan XR! That thing looks clean from the photo. I can't decide if I want to pull the trigger on two wheels or four this spring for a daily. Denver is fairly mild until Dec - Feb, so a bike isn't really impractical.

It's eh. Previous owner painted it but didnt mask anything off very well and just painted the whoke thing but it was running and street legal. all I had to do was re register it and get insurance. Thing does 70 no problem since i regeared it. Just need to clean up the wiring cause its a rat nest.

Plan is to make it into a scrambler/tracker. (Google honda xr tracker or scrambler) Cause you know, leave nothing stock right?

Some pictures from rocky gap I never posted. Also cruised on the xr out to Hump n' Bump this weekend in Logandale and rode around in my dads jeep. Was fun. Came pretty close to rolling but he managed to save it.

Only good one of my truck.

Just signed up for the Winter 4x4 Jamboree in Sand Hollow. Should be fun. Plan is to drive up Thursday morning after work and run trails friday and saturday then drive home saturday night or early sunday. Anyone else going?

With that, gotta fix or redo the steps, put the 3/8 plate in the rear to make the rear match the front, and decide if im going to change the seal between tcase and tranny again.

Redoing my steps and want them to hug the body closer with a kickout behind the door to the bed. Any one have any suggestions?

Want them to look something similar to this I think but of course will be round 1.5" tubing.

Do you want them that close to the body? Kind of looks like that defeats the purpose of a "kick out" in my opinion, and more so serves as bash protection.

Ended up doing it like every other kick out set of steps on tacomas. Kind of thought the same thing and was making it to complicated.

Finally knocked some things out. Extended the front bump stops, put in longer bolts for the steering stops, replaced the steering box and welded on the new steps and drained the tcase again. Just about everythings ready to go for next weekend just have to load it all up. But like normal, power steering pump is going out so need to replace that soon. And maybe a little steering upgrade :spy:

Most likely. Just ordered a new pump and everything from psc. Bought the steering box already tapped and theres a 6 in psc ram my dad had that he cant use anymore so figured do it all at once.

Have that ram shortened to 5.5" and spring for rebuildable fittings if you can afford it. Then you'll be all set!

Is 5.5" what yours is? Do you have any problems with your knuckles with hydro assist?
