    I doubt your alternator pulley is bad.. Take your belt off and spin each one by hand . Here's a diagram to put it back on(v6) and the Gates part numbers.

    4 idler pulleys, one of them is on the tensioner arm.

    So if I want to service would I replace all 4?
    Or should I just replace the worn out ones and wait until the rest crap out?

    Either way.. I would replace all at ones and use the "good" ones as spares if something happens offroading.

    I had a buddy switch out the idler pulley in the hotel parking lot in 30 minuets so 1 or 1.5 for all since the belt and other crap would already be out of the way

    Add a little bit more if you have aftermarket skid plates, those things are heavy.

    Ended up being the lower 2 bearing pulley but I replaced the upper beside the alternator also. Going to wait till the other ones give trouble before I replace. 2 pulleys and an oil change in an hour. Not bad for my first time.
    Now. . . . Anyone know if the tensioner is a different procedure ?
    Edit: just saw the tensioner assembly... Can't be taken apart. . . . $188 CAD

    The tensioner certainly can have just the pulley replaced. I did mine. The diagram I posted has both part numbers.

    One bolt vs whatever to take off the whole arm. It's not an exact fit part, but there are others (myself included) that have had success with it. Read more here

    awesome info ... I read from page 18 to page 28 (last). Seems pulley number one (lower) can be used to replace the tensioner pulley when used without the back spacer.....Right? Good.
    Some state to use anti seize on all the bolts and one person states to use thread lock. Should i mix them?o_O
    Probably not.
    I agree with anti seize but is threadlock necessary?

    Yes, use the other pulley for the tensioner. That's where I got the number for my diagram. I did not use any antiseize or thread lock, just torqued them.

    You use the right pulley? Some people on the FJ thread had an issue. I did not.
    A couple shots of mine. The belt sits towards the edge of the pulley but it's fully on it.
