I always see this posted. I haven't seen anyone bitching about 3rd gens that didn't own one.

There are plenty of us with 3rd gen fails.

    This.

Of course, I think the 1st Gen is better looking than the 2nd Gen, but I digress. Literally.

I was in the same boat. I was looking at the 2015's and 2016's and I went for the 2016. Plus, when I was searching at the time, they had 2015's with 10K miles selling for the same price as I got my brand new 2016 and they both had the same specs. It was a much better deal.

I've owned both a 16 that I traded in for a 17 and I have had no problems with both years... As of yet.. When I first started looking to buy a Tacoma I test drove a 15 2nd gen and motor wise it was better than the 3rd gen. But other than that the 2nd interior and what not seemed out dated.

Same here. 3rd gen overall ride & interior is superior to 2nd gen imo.

The 4.0 is a much more satisfying engine to drive when compared to the 3.5. The 3.5 may get more HP but that is way up high in the rev band where you aren't likely to spend much time. Trucks should get good power down low. The 3.5 has poor pull from the line.

    ^ +1.

    Sold my 15'. Went to a 16.
Definitely some trade offs. I loved the lower end and throttle response of the 4.0. The 3.5 just doesn't feel the same(despite having more power). But I LOVE the refinement of the 3rd gen interior and body lines. There will be minor issues along the way.. and I expected that. No car is PERFECT. (although my 2nd gen was close:p)

I will give the gen 3 that. I swear I am not a third gen troll because I bought a 2nd gen. I love the interior and tech of the gen 3.

Come visit me in sunny San Diego and see for yourself ;)

I was KIND OF kidding, but in all seriousness I've been blindly approached a dozen times in my third gen that I've only had for 6 weeks to talk about my truck, won't lie, its mostly dudes, but some ladies have definitely gone out of their way to tell me my truck is badass.

No doubt my lightly modified Inferno 3rd gen already gets WAY more positive attention than my more modified 2nd gen ever did. That's NOT why I bought the truck, but it is a positive benefit :)

Given I bought a brand new ORANGE truck so it does grab attention just from the color, but in the 4 years of ownership on my last truck I only recall being blindly approached ONCE, and my 2nd gen wasn't exactly subtle....
