I hesitated to even post about this. I typically try to stay away from imposing my moral views on anyone. Partly because I've fucked up enough in life to not be able to justifiably judge anyone else. Partly because it's the internet. I try to keep it light. That post did get me though.

It makes a big difference knowing that pic was taken before you knew what was going on. I give you credit for manning up, and owning it.

@landphil-was your dash cam hardwired for power? If so, how'd you do it?

And I like your new ride! Were you able to pick it up for the cash payout from insurance on the total, or did it cost you some out of pocket on top?

@08TRDOFFROAD, I had an inline mini-USB power supply similar to this:

    https://www.amazon.com/Waterproof-C...4&sr=8-1&keywords=mini+usb+power+supply+12vdc

I put it up above the overhead console with the power cord run out between the windshield and the headliner (there's a little notch where it fits quite well), and since mine didn't have a compass / outside temp. display, I used the Ign and Gnd wires from that plug to supply it. Auto on / auto off with ignition. Even with the compass / temp display, the current draw should be low enough to tie into those two wires - I can't recall what the color was, other than white with black stripe for ground. The only one with +12v ignition power will be the one you want.

I did come out ahead going into this Tundra even though it's 2 years newer and a TRD package, both about the same mileage. The depreciation (or lack thereof) with the Tacoma is better that the Tundra's around these parts at least, and it was a very good deal worth the trip to the northern part of the province and the 11.5 hour drive back. I'm still surprised I got it for what I did. A cash sale for a dealer in an area where the oil and gas industry are suffering probably worked in my favour too, though this was never a work truck.

I cannot believe your radiator and A/C condenser were intact after a hit like that! As messed up as your truck is, I wouldn't be surprised if the A/C still worked...

My custom hidden winch mount definitely played a part in how well the front end stayed together. The rad was shoved back into the engine pretty badly, though I don't believe it or the a/c condenser ruptured. There was oil running down the side of the road from under my truck, pretty sure it was engine oil, not sure from where.

I thought I had posted this pic to the thread before, but it would appear that I did not.

Yup. At least there was no passenger, almost certainly would have been a fatality.
