If you want a quality bed light kit, I can put one together and theyre flush mounted through the bed. Check my Build thread. Theyre great. turns on when the tailgate opens or on a regular switch. Just put together a kit for @LivinLoud 's christmas pressent. would cost probably around $80ish. but would be a very high quality light kit. I use only Ozium lights. Drilling is required. Nothing too crazy though.

I will go out and take a few right now.

 

They are extreamly bright. I love them myself, I'm thinking about making kits and selling them if people would be interested. Theyre flush mount led bolts. water proof and super rugged, also very small. I dont like stick on lights because over time they will fail and wont be stuck on very well in the long run. These will never come out unless you get under there and unbolt them.

 

So with the drilling... you just drill small holes in the bed liner and run the wiring to where? I am very interested. And with the Kit you would put together what is included?

 

My kit would include 4 lights (2 on each side), wire loom, all the wire (cut to size, crimped on heat shrink connectors), a pin switch, and 2 t connectors for power and ground. everything would be made very easy to install. installation in a quick sentence: drill 4 holes, put ligthts in holes, connector wires, put loom around wires and zip tie loom inside frame. easy and very clean installation. of course, if i do make these (which would be easy for me to do so now that ive done it a few times) I would write up an installation guide with pictures.

 

Wiring would depend on you. at the end of the installation youll just have 2 wires. power and ground. I would have 3 suggetions. one is to wire it all the way up to your battery with an inline fuse. the second is to wire it to your dome light inside the cab under the dash which always has power (easy wire to find) and my last is to wire it to your running lights (either a licese plate light or the tail light) and in this case the bed lights would only work when your lights are on. This is a good option so you cant leave your bed lights on. If the buyer would rather a regular toggle swich instead of a pin switch i could include that too. it would be very simple either way.

 

I would definitely be interested in a kit. I really like clean, almost factory, look of the install. Where do you tie into power?

Makes me wonder why Toyota doesn't do something like this instead of that half-assed single bed light they do offer.

I saw someone put those on has rock lights. He wasn't happy with them, they were not very bright.

 

@CoffeeStout @Brokinarrow @tomwil @'16TacomaTRD I would need 4 people to commit to a buy for me to make these at a good price. I will buy everything in bulk to keep cost down. I'm aiming for $80 could be $85 with shipping or something like that. im not 100% yet. There's lots of connectors and I buy the good heat shrink connectors. not to mention I will put the whole kit together for you all you have to do is drill and connect and then cover with the loom and zip ties. Yes i will also include the zip ties... I would need a little time to get it all organized and set up but shouldn't take too long.

 

Unfortunately, I am not going to commit until my basic warranty is over (1/2 year to go). Don't want to screw with any wiring until the warranty ends. Sorry!

i like the whole idea of it. Let me give it a little more thought about what i want to do if thats the route i want to go. i like your setup better than most that ive seen.

 

No problem. I'm just making a suggestion. Ive thought about trying to make kits and sell them. What are your thought? Do you guys think its worth a try? I know they would be high quality because well i have already made 2. I could start up a bed light feeler thread and see what people say. feedback would be helpful
