That's weird that your temp is in the radio. Usually it's just a clock that is in the radio. I kinda like where mine is in the console. My mom has a newer Rav4 and it's in the dash like where the odometer is and it's like it's being hidden from the passengers or something being buried in there. Lol

Before this truck I had a '12 Rav4 and it was in the same spot as part of the gauge cluster. I didn't hate it, but yeah passengers never knew the temp.

I'd love to buy one of the newer overhead consoles with the compass and thermometer.

I'm sure you could retrofit one to your truck

My temp is in the top middle of the gauge cluster. Seems like the GF can read it no problem from the passenger seat - she's never asked me what it said, always just looked

Mine said 23°. Had frost on everything. Also started the truck a few minutes early.

Winter means I'll start getting 14 MPG because of my refusal to drive to work cold and the winter gas. I've thought about a remote starter, but I think that would just facilitate me getting 12 MPG all winter.

Yes it is. I found a thread here with details on how to move it down into an aftermarket radio though. That's on my list.

I did that, so mine is on both. I kind of like it that way. I think it's useful in the mirror but easier to see detail on the headunit.

Did you see any change in picture quality or anything? How easy was it to find the right wires in the harness?

On the camera, none whatsoever. On the headunit, you can tell it's not flawless but it's really not bad at all. I think the key is using a high quality RCA cable. I found a nice thick one with lots of shielding.

Finding the wires was easy. Splicing into them wasn't as easy because there is limited room.

How heavy are you guys putting it on, that it's taking a full gallon? I coated everything underneath my truck with maybe 1/3-1/2 a gallon.

Good to know. That looks great! Thanks! This is definitely moving up on my list. It's a $5 mod that looks great.

I once saw where someone had a aftermarket radio in a Tacoma with the rear camera mirror display (where mine is) and by the push of a button he was able to switch it as either rear cam/GPS or DVD display. I think it would be great to be able to use it as your GPS while playing DVD's on the radio's screen and have them both switch to back up camera while in reverse.

That would be cool. My radio has two video inputs so I'm debating mounting another camera on the front bumper for precision parking help. Either that or dashcam playback through the radio once I get a dashcam.

Unfortunately my truck budget this month is next to nil thanks to the new tires last month, Titanfall 2, and Gears of War 4.

Ugh. GF decided to change lanes and dent up the Suburu. I really need to take the keys away from her. 4 minor accidents in the past 3 years.

I used probably 1.25 gallons and 3.5 spray cans. I have a problem I think.
