i am completely aware of the taco tick ... and hate it, but deal with it lol ... I just want confirmation that mine is normal, upon acceleration windows up/down I can here a chattering/ticking/clicking sound, once up to speed it mellows out but going through 4th gear (yes have a manual) you can really hear it! Is it just the notorious taco tick or is mine sound more different than others?

Ps ... I shift like a grandma and rarely get my rpms above 3k, btw I am driving with radio off for these examples with windows up and down

I'm closing my eyes and imagining you driving windows down, granny shifting, smoking a pipe, uh oh getting close to 3k! No prob you banged another gear nice and slow. You have a gorgeous blonde with huge jugs in the passenger seat. Nice to look at but you havent seen her down below yet so you don't realize her penis is bigger than yours. That's OK though as long as you stop when you figure it out then it's not gay. That's why you always let her finish the blowie before you do the checkie. You are wearing yoga pants and a workout tank top that says crossfit life on it. You are on the way to a fancy bar with retro video games and craft beer. You clearly rock your man bun with pride.

I hear the ticking from the motor in my head. I'm imagining what it sounds like. It varies in intensity and frequency just like your heart will when you do the checkie.

Sounds like a normal day to me :shrugs:

I have that sound sometimes too, mostly in summer. If I let my rpms drop below a range and give it gas, it feels almost like it bogs down a bit and starts pinging (if that is the same noise you were referring to).

And @gainman that is my nomination for post of the day ( I know I know, day aint over yet...)

OK how about this. . .

Type what it sounds like. Make the sound out loud and type what you hear. Like this. . . Tick tick tick tick tick...

Is that what it sounds like?

Ticking clicking sound on acceleration... then mellows out when you get higher rpms in the higher gears.

... yes sort of a repetitive ticking... can hear it very well with the windows up, and no music.

Does the sound increase in frequency with engine rpm or with vehicle speed.

No it is only lower rpms like 2500-2700 and below, I know people are making fun of me because it's such a bland question, but I have no way of recording it ... I'm not a person to ask stupid questions, just need help guys, if you have a suggestion to help figure it out let me know! Thanks
