Long story short, I got run off the road of a 2 lane road by another driver that didn't stop at the scene. Only casualties were my front end, a couple mailboxes and a sign. Truck went into the shop today for repairs and I've talked to the estimator and he is going to do me a couple favors. One, we are ordering a scooped hood for replacement because it's purdy and also a 2010 front grill instead of a 2011. I want to redo my Satoshi and the 2011 honeycomb is a pain to start with. There was only cosmetic damage and no airbag deployment. Either way, updates to follow...including a possible plate bumper lol.

The bumper was mangled and pretty much fell off at the scene. I stripped down the front because it was better to ride around with instead of busted lights and grill.

Getting new hood, fenders, bumper, grill, front door skins, and roof. Yes, roof, FML.

Oh damn, that sucks. Glad no one was hurt. The truck can be fixed; sometimes easier than we can. Hope everything goes well with the insurance.

That sucks. Glad you're OK. It looks like the grill insert is still there. Why not re-use that one instead of chopping up the new one. Then that way you can have a spacer insert piece?

Well, from 10ft away it looks good but I can definitely see some faults mostly caused by using the wrong tool for the job due to inexperience. When I redo it I will use the right tools and it will look much better since I am the one that has to look at it most often.

Oh, I see. That's true. I plasti-dipped my badges and no one can see the areas where I messed up but that is the first thing I look at when walking by. After all, you're fixing it up for you and not for other people.

My thought's exactly. I also dipped my badges a couple years ago and it has held up well but peeling on some corners. I was looking for an excuse to debadge the doors to match the back but have been lazy. My bodyshop is going to leave the badges off of the doors and just give them to me that way I won't have to deal with it.

Yeah, after talking to the shop today, they had already ordered all the parts to fix everything and 99% have been delivered. I will not be getting the scooped hood but he said if I want to pay the difference they can order the parts. It is basically $150 for the scoop, $24 for the bracket and another ~$20 for something else I can't remember. Either way, I opted out for now.

All done and looking good. I've had it back for a few days but they put the wrong color grill on it. Then, when they got the correct one I got a TRD Sport color matched one instead of the TRD Offroad Chrome so that is definitely a win for me. I already plastiderped the lower valance and will do the badge this weekend probably.
