should i take this deal

found a set of black TRD pro wheels wrapped in 265/70/17 Nitto terra grapplers for $1000. tire have 20k miles on them with 9/32 tread left. Just wanting some insight if you guys think this is a good deal. picture for ref

I would assume so but I didn't ask. with the tpms do you need to reconfigure for the different vehicle?

Wheels retail for like $600 right? Are those tires worth $100 a piece with 20k on them? I doubt it.

You'll also want the lug nuts and TPMS sensors

 

Yup. Every time you switch to wheels that have different senors you have to reprogram. Some tire shops can do it in 10minutes for $10-20

 

They will have to be programmed to your vehicle yes

 

I hit him up for 900 because the tires have 20k on them and he came back with 1000 i'm going to look at em here in a lil bit.

 

Those wheels are sweet. If the rims are like 600, i wouldn't pay a grand with that kind of mileage on the rubber

 

Nah, I'd just buy the wheels for $600 and put the tires I really want on them

 

Let just be clear on the wheels that most of the time the wheels will you find new for a minimum of 750.00 shipped. And not the Knock TRD Pro style wheels on Fleabay. I would have offered him 900.00 as well

ok the set will not come with the tpms sensors. I will have to break down my wheels and swap mine in. Said I can have the locking lugs though and possibly the spidertrax 1.25 wheels spacers. He said that the wheels came stock on his trd pro 4 runner. tires look to be in good shape and wheels are in great shape. no rubs or scuffs at all. He is waiting to get his new set in before he sells them and wants a deposit to hold them for me.

No I do not ...but I met him at his work yesterday so im not too concerned about the deposit. I usually get a feel for people before I do any dealing with them from online resale sights. Seems pretty legit IMO. Just some of the norm of telling me BS stuff like "these wheels are 900 new" and haggling back and fourth about price and what will be included with the deal.

 

You can get the wheels for less and unless that rubber is something you've been looking for, its merely an incidental and not worth another dollar. I would pass.

 

I never give anyone a deposit. They can have all the cash when I get all the item.

 

Those wheels are going to run around 800 shipped best case scenario. I know unchained has or had a hookup and I don't know what that price is , but the best price I found was around 180 a piece with free shipping.
