    Hello all,

Just picked up my 2017 OR with the JBL and Entune Premium system. It's a great truck overall, just one complaint so far:

I am unable to get the text message feature to work with my iPhone 6. The phone is connected via Bluetooth, and notifications is selected on. I am able to make calls and my contacts come through on the display. However, my text message screen has all the boxes blank...

I called Toyota, and they said that the Entune system only supports the text message feature if the phone (all types of phone) has less than 100 total text messages on it. This doesn't make much sense, as I'm guessing that most people have more than 100 messages?!

Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

I have way more than 100 total texts on my android but mine come through. The only problem is the notifications are useless since they won't let you read them until you're stopped.

Can't you have the text read to you?

I have the same setup and way over a 100 messages and mine works just fine. Try deleting the phone from your Entune and start over again

Yes but only if you're stopped from what I've found. The incoming text message read button is dithered when I'm driving so I hit ignore and when I come to a stop and get to my messages, they become available to click on and then they will read to me.

I have try that and have even replaced my phone to and iPhone 7 plus from and iPhone 6 Plus , and for me to get the message system in the Toyota to work I have to set it up in the messaging app constantly. It works fine until I turn off the truck then I have to set it up again......

I have an SR base Entune and a Motorola Droid Turbo. It usually takes a while for all of my texts to load but they do. The read button works on mine cruising down the highway with no issues.

TRD OR with tech but non-JBL. iPhone 6s. When the text comes through the Entune system has a pop-up with the person's name and two options. One is ignore, the other may be read? If I click on the one, the text will be read over the speakers. Ignore obviously just dismisses it. No issues with it, annoying at times with multiple people texting at once though.

@onsite28 Delete all bluetooth pairings and re-pair but WITHOUT QUICK CONTACTS enabled. Search on that, it's been discussed here in the last month.

Fixed the matter for me and texts come in fine since then. iphone7 and Premium w/ JBL.

Of course, it's a bit weird hearing a guy's text read in a female voice....

Thanks for the ideas everyone. I have researched many of the posts on this site, and tried just about everything suggested. I have updated the software on both devices, deleted and reconnected Bluetooth pairings, I don't have quick contacts...

I am not very happy about the tech support people telling me the 100 text limit story today! I am going to have to call them back and get a real answer, or set up an appointment at the dealer so they can troubleshoot or replace the unit.
