Hi, I barely got my 2006 tacoma 4x4.
I was wondering when I engaged my 4low and then actived my diff lock.
Can I leave my diff lock actived while I'm using my 2WD?

Because when I leave my diff lock and remove 4low and the 4high, the diff lock light start blinking.

The diff lock can only be engaged while in 4low. Unless you do the grey wire mod but that's for first gens, second gens are a little harder to do.

The rear differential locker is designed from the factory to only be used in 4low. If you leave it engaged when going into 4hi or 2wd, it will automatically disengage. Just the way it was designed to work.

There is a way you can modify the system to make the locker work outside of 4low but you have to do some wire snipping, it's a little more complicated on the 2nd gens than it was on the first gens. Not sure what it's called for 2nd gens, hopefully someone else can chime in on how it's done. Paging @digitaLbraVo

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Under cheap mods, locker anytime. It requires a DPDT relay and a bit of electrical prowess but it's not hard.
