2006 Tacoma single cab 4x4. Have bilsteins in front at 2.5 added a leaf in the rear. Had 265/70/17 on 17x9. Truck was intended as my daily commuter but couldn't help myself with mods. Was getting around 23mpg average driving it nice now I'm around 17 and loss of power. I knew what would happen by lifting it and putting the tires on. Decided that I want to put it back down and get my power and mpg back along with ride quality since I drive it so much. What setting on the bilsteins will level it out once I remove the leaf in the rear, .85 or 1.75. Can't find the correct answer. Also have a flow master super 44 but want to buy a full exhaust that is quiet but can be beneficial. Mine is all rusty and looks like hell. From what I've read the dynomax full exhaust is a good choice. What headers would be beneficial? LCE or Doug Thorley? Don't want a fart can sound.

I have billies at 1.75 in the front, stock rear. Sits level untill I put anything in the bed.

I also run 265/70/17 and my mpg only dropped from 21 to 19... If I baby it. On a recent fishing trip, I only got 16, but that was with 20 psi in the tires and running around in 4hi on occasion.

1.75 it is then. I don't haul anything besides basic light materials in the bed. I have a second truck for stuff like that. The Toyota was all stock last winter when I got it and it drove so nice and got excellent mpg. At 1.75 would you say the front if any is lower than the rear. Or the other way around? Id rather have it slightly lower in the rear if not level.

This is why trucks have forward rake.

I've never measured, but if I had to guess it's probably slight higher in the front.

I don't carry heavy loads on a daily basis either and it's never bothered me. I like how the front end handles on the road @1.75. It's noticeably stiffer which prevents the nose from diving when you hit the brakes going into a turn.

My truck has always been lower on the drivers side in the front, recently discovered that bilstein makes a plate for it. I think I read that if I put the quarter inch plate on it will bring the driver side a half inch or something of that sort up. Idk I can't ever find a answer on here that is solid, lots of different trucks and different set ups.

But I do plan on keeping this truck for a very long time just because its been a very good vehicle, so has my last Toyota truck. So if I plan on driving it as much as I do I think I should put it back how it was. Probably set the front to .85 from what a lot of threads are saying on here. It will drive me crazy if the front end is higher. I put roughly 30k on the Tacoma in this past year and it's definatelt not as a smooth riding vehicle since I began raising it up.

I also changed the headlights to spec d tuning headlights and in all honesty, I've never found a headlight that has preformed as well as factory. Going to find me a set somewhere and switch back.

Your truck sits lower on the driver side with stock coils? I though the driver side spacer was only needed if you upgrade to after market coils.

Go back to stock wheels and 16" tires if you want MPG back.

Lift isn't what kills power and MPGs. Tire diameter (effectively changes your gear ratios and RPMs at speed) and tire weight is what kills MPG.
