Of course I checked the truck over at the dealership but I didn't notice this until a couple weeks later when I went to put the steps on. The damage is on the underside where it appears to be held up by in the factory (at the back next to the guys foot). The sales manage says because I had already driven the truck he wouldn't cover it so I went to the store manager... He gave me a FREE!!!! touch up pen...
Anyone else notice paint missing under there? It's an awkward spot that couldn't really get hit without hitting something else too but nothing else in damaged under there.

Kind of hard to tell where that blemish is located from the first picture.

Ahhh gotcha.. that kind of sucks. Since it's on the underside it shouldn't be too noticeable. If it makes you feel any better I took off my rear bumper the first month I owned my 3rd gen... :( still haven't fixed it yet because I got quoted ~1k for it...

That's not from the factory. Don't you have like over 25k km on your truck? Could of happened many different ways. Especially if you have that kind of mileage on your truck

Looks like that might be down on the rocker panel, a different pic would help a lot.

Sling some mud on it, problem solved!

Tell the dealer to stick the pen where the sun don't shine. Another problem solved!

Mine has similar markings in the paint, which is really just overspray, in the area I believe you're picturing. Unless you're seeing bare metal, this looks to be the same coated steel as the rest of the under body and any flaws in the paint there are irrelevant and pose no risk at all to the vehicle...and frankly is a silly thing to have even brought up to the dealer.

It's bare metal otherwise I wouldn't really care as it's not something you can see without being under the truck. I noticed it with about 500km on the truck, basically just drove it home from the dealer.
You can see the rear body mount in the pic, it looks like the paint was rubbed off and there is a small scratch in the middle.

Shitty, but nothing you can do at this point other than fix it at your expense and move on. Clean it, touch it up, keep an eye on it.

There was a guy that made a thread he bought a used 2nd gen and 2 days later was relying on the backup cam and backed into the underside of a bridge and crunched his cabin.Screenshot_2016-10-23-13-38-13.jpg
