Complete 30k Maintenance

Follow these guidelines:
-GL-4 75w90 for manual transmission
-GL-5 75w90 transfer case and diffs

Wow, confused here...
Busy with health and other family matters, I took my 2012 2.7l 4x4 for the 30K to local dealer.
I do not see any transfer case work on my work slip.
??

Changed the drive-line fluids today (~27,xxx on the clock):
-transmission: Red Line MT90 75w90 (GL-4 is required)
-transfer-case: Mobil 1 75w90 (Gl-4 or GL-5 is required)
-rear differential: Mobil 1 75w90 (GL-5 is required)
-front differential: Mobil 1 75w90 (GL-5 is required)

Used Red Line MT90 75w90 for the transmission, then put the remainder of 3rd bottle into the tranfer-case and mixed it with the Mobil 1 75w90. In total 9 qts are required to do the full drive-line.

All-in-all, super easy job. Just had to buy 10mm hex socket and 24mm 6 point socket as those aren't typically included in most tools sets.

Typical sludge was on magnets and fluid was no dirtier than anticipated.

Found this in the rear differential, attached to the plug's magnet:

 

Did mine all last year about 10k kms ago, going to do the rear diff again soon because I towed a lot with it and it cant hurt. Great home maintenance for people to do and very easy. Tranny fluid makes a huge difference. I just put some in my Yaris the other day too and what a difference

Performed the 30k service this weekend, thanks for pulling all these together! Couple things I noted - I did use

$29 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)

75W-90 GL-5 in the front/rear diffs, MT, and TC (before reading the latest info above, of course >_< ), and despite the total 9 qt capacity listed in the manual, used 9.5 quarts (which was annoying since I'd only bought 9). Between that, and my fumoto valve snapping on install, had quite the annoying day. Did get it done the next day, after picking up another quart and a new oil drain plug gasket.

 

Followed this today for my 30k on my 2015 4x4 - used redline MT-90 for the trans and

$29 75w-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)

75w-90 everywhere else.

Word to the wise: Redline 1qt bottles dont’t thread to normal transfer pumps. I ended up having to pour the oil into a bucket and pump from there. If you buy the gallon quantities, take note that they don’t have fill indications like normal motor oil- you’ll need a way to measure out your oil.
