One of the guys we go to Arkansas with wants to be at the flooded timber by 0330-0400 so no one gets our spot. It's 38,000 fucking acre's I believe we're good. I've seen one other person in there in the 7 years we've been going. You should have seen the look on his face when I said we're walking about a 1/2-3/4 of a mile in and about 2 miles to the right, right? Yeah. Well doesn't this ficking road go another 5 miles and couldn't we go down two miles then just walk in 3/4 of a mile and be done with that shit? Silence. lol

I refuse to go with him to Lake Guntersville, he wants to spend the night on the boat. Fuck that shit, I'm not sleeping in a jon boat.

I hear ya....I try and get in and setup about an hour before legal shooting..to mainly let things settle down. If someone else is there before I get there....good for them and I simply move on.

Yup, that's how I am. The ducks are going to head into flooded timber, I don't care where the hell you're standing. In fact another buddy goes out there every year and goes in by boat after the big boat race every morning. Puddles in pulls up next to a tree and ties off. Sometimes doesn't even get out of the boat and kills a limit within 30 minutes to an hour.

I'm right here on the couch. It's too damn hot to be out there right now.

 

Arkansas duck hunt is on the bucket list!
