FWIW for your bargaining purposes...Most of the ones i'm seeing with similar needs are in the $1000-$2500 range but if it's nice then hey...go for it

There's a couple missing from north eastern Kentucky where there are ZERO leads. They went on a trip this spring and have not been heard from since. Ya gotta wonder....

The story that goes with this one is the owner was starting to do a full restoration (to stock) and ran out of money. Fresh motor, new clutch, front end rebuild, etc.... Needs finishing touches.

Of course, NOTHING is ever all it is supposed to be. The beds rusted off these trucks in just a few short years. And it is 32 years old.....Not sure what to expect yet. I don't want 1000lbs of cured bondo.

Honestly, I don't care too much about body rust as long as it's minimal...frame would need to not look like a 1st gen tacoma frame, and if it cranks fairly easily, shifts easily, drives forward, backward, and in 4wd without issue, and stops when I tell it to...good enough for me

Don't care about heat or a/c working, don't care if any of the lights work (except maybe headlights, but I can add an LED bar if need be)

This thing is likely going to never see the road except if I have to drive it home

really, just a way to transport me and a buddy down into the woods where I shoot with the ability to carry whatever it is we carry to shoot each time...and pull out my dad's golf cart when it gets stuck...or haul my uncles deer out the woods

I haven't but i've always been told 300 blackout is designed to be a subsonic hunting round, and performs best out of a short barrel with a suppressor

    I've never found the need

I don't hunt and I don't have any suppressors, nor any interest in paying for one right now...sooo 5.56/.223 is where it's at for me...bulk pricing 25 cents a round...easier to stack it deep in my closet

These are best if you reload because these rounds can be made from .223 brass.

But @JimBeam is correct they are best suppressed and sbr'ed. Basically the 30-30 of ARs.

dont need a stamp for an AR pistol, but IIRC, the lower needed the annotation of a pistol when purchased.

I'm not a lawyer and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but my understanding is that for a stripped lower this isn't the case. The 4473 should be marked as "Other" for stripped lowers.

found this out on the interwebs...

If you buy a virgin receiver, it is an "other" on the 4473. Even if it is marked "pistol" by the manufacturer (some did, don't know if they still do) you can assemble it as either a AR "pistol" or AR "rifle".

Been a while since I drug the 48" over to the desk and set up the sim. Such a pain in the ass. Someday, i'll have a cockpit I can just walk in and set down in.

Meanwhile....looks like im trading the scat pack in for GT 5.0 for a couple laps. :)
