Carrot cake counts as a vegetable, right? Especially if it's from scratch?

I didn't know this nor did many of my other co-workers until our pastry chef told us about it. We thought it was a neat tip so we decided to make a video about it. :)

At least now you know...I hate when you go to crack an egg and the whole shell disintegrates...I usually get mad and throw that egg in the garbage rather than try to pick out all the pieces. Same goes for hard boiled eggs...if it doesnt peel it goes in the trash.

I find that my own yard birds produce a harder shell than the mass laid stuff you get from a grocery store. Less chance of pieces in your bowl

Same with a friend of mine's chickens and ducks, but he feeds them a meal that's laced with calcium. Results in freaking bullet-proof eggs.

BTW, duck eggs are fantastic! Highly recommended.

I like eggs of some sort for breakfast, typically over medium. I typically eat store bought eggs just because they are easy to get. I prefer farm eggs but around here you have to make sure someone is at home or drive 5miles out the way to get them...:( The small farm free range eggs taste 10X better than chicken farmed eggs. But I'll take what I can get.

Harvested some of the last tomatoes before the freeze a few nights back. Fried green with some pulled pork I smoked over the weekend. Homemade Carolina mustard sauce.

Oh man, you're missing out, they're so good!

Every year we harvest a bunch of green ones to make them. I always look forward to those days!

Agreed. Easy to make and way worth it. Great with Uncle Dans Original Southern ranch for dipping.

So, are these a specific type of green mater? Or just picked off the vine before ripening?

What about ripening bananas? You know that random moment when you want to make banana cake and you go to the grocery store and all they have are green bananas and you just don't feel like waiting however long it will take to ripen them? :p

    Check this video out!

What methods do you guys use to ripen your green bananas?
