Ordered all the parts to fit the Hilux lighted 4wd selector to my truck. Always bothered me that it wasn't backlit.......

Hmm.... so, out of the blue this morning, the truck decided it need a full 6 seconds of cranking to fire up.... it's been a tad bit sluggish before, but I chalked it up to the cold. plugs have about 20k on them and I've got 93 in the tank, purchased from royal farms about a week ago. battery is less than a year old and my terminals are clean and making good contact. any ideas on what the issue is? I've got to tow my Rally Car down to VA on Sunday and don't want to get stranded somewhere when the truck won't start.

Yeah. I'm just not sure what the issue is since all of the usual suspects are taken care of already. and the plugs are iridium so they should be good to 35 or 40k. I'm wondering of the royal farms 93 had some water in it or something

its possible you got a bad tank of fuel. when i had my honda i got a couple bad tanks of 93 from budget or no name gas stations. it was very noticeable on that car as it was tuned for 93 octane only.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking I just want to make sure there's not another issue present.

I experienced a bad tank of fuel on my drive down to north Carolina in September. if the fuel is bad to the point that the truck won't start, you will immediately throw a code/s for cylinder misfire. hook of a reader, and it will list the affected cylinders. I only had issues with 2 of the cylinders, but it made it hard to start, hard to keep running at idle, and it put it in a limp mode of sorts, not allowing me to exceed a certain speed/rpm. not that I could even reach those speeds with a trailer and 4 cylinders.

moral of the story, I'd look into electrical (starter/battery/alternator) before trying to drain your tank or anything fuel related.

TSC by far is consistently the best place for air compressors. I got my 60 gallon a little over a year ago there for somewhere between $300 and $350. tank of a compressor. that 80 gal has me drooling though
