Ok guys, I did lots of reading and studying and researching and talk to many people before I bought my lift set up. And I bought the rims and tires that were suggested with the lift that I bought. I went through a lot of headache because nothing was working, my truck sat in the shop of the guy who did the lift for over 4 weeks with him back and forth with pictures and phone calls to the company I bought the lift from trying to figure out why my 315 70 17 tires were rubbing on my sway bar links. In the end nothing worked to fix it. I ended up buying the smaller size tire and that's the only thing that made it not rub the sway bar links. By putting spacers on with the big tires it made me rub my stock fender flares . So I decided to buy the smaller tire. I did keep inch and a quarter spacers with the smaller tires which is probably causing my issues now. Also I went with the 6-inch Lift because I really like the look of the 6-inch Lift. I did not expect at all to have all the troubles that I had but I've had to deal with the hand I was dealt. At this point I do not rub unless I hit a curb or something to flex the truck with the wheel turned. And just taking the spacers off might fix that but I want extra room in there so I am going to have him do the CMC and I know he'll do a very good job because he does this at his shop all the time. I thought that I did and want everything right, but unfortunately sometimes what is supposed to work just doesn't seem to work and nobody had any good answers of why it wasn't working. If I would have known I was going to have all these problems I would have done things differently but was not expecting all the problems that I had.:frusty::annoyed:

Oh, and as far as the regear goes, I needed to do it. I don't know about any of your trucks or your personal dealings with your vehicles. I know that with the lift that I have on my truck with the tires that I have on my truck I could not keep my truck in 6th Gear going down the highway unless I was heading downhill. It was constantly in 5th gear and even down shifting to 4th gear. That's all I can tell you that's all I know! I did not get a regear because I wanted to spend $2,000, But I would have been trying to get rid of it if I hadn't because it was annoying as hell going down the highway. . But now that I have done that regear, I actually love driving it! Now it goes into 6th gear and stays there! All these trucks are supposed to be the same but they're obviously differences in each individual truck for some odd reason. So if you put gigantic size tires on your vehicle and nothing rubs anywhere no matter what you do no matter how you drive and you drive down the highway and it shifts absolutely perfectly God bless you! I am very very very happy for you! But that was not the case that I had with my vehicle. So now that I've done all of this to it, it is enjoyable to drive! Hallelujah praise the Lord Good Golly Miss Molly!:amen:

do you think there's any need to be concerned with the long term use of the 3m tape it uses for the install ?

I'm running 17 inch wheels with 4.5 backspacing and 0mm offset. I didn't rub at all when I was running 285/70 17's but I wanted a bigger tire, so in order to fully clear the size I wanted, on and off road, I had to do the cab mount chop. it's really not a big deal. a plate gets welded in place of the material that was removed, ground smooth and painted. can't even tell it was done except now I have all the room I need. For reference, I am running an icon stage 6 kit which is roughly 3 inches of lift.

Sure, any added lift will help give your tire more clearance by moving it further down away from truck.
And adding caster, without an adjustable top mount for the UCA, would have moved the bottom of the spindle out at the rear adjuster and in at the front adjuster which would move the tire forward slightly. The problem is that major changes to caster, by way of the bottom adjusters only, aren't correctly accomplished and will ultimately cause excessive tire wear.
Lift, wheel spacers, or wheels with less back spacing and less offset will all help with clearance but all can come at a price.
Moving the wheel more outward causes excessive scrub on the tire and places more strain on the upper and lower balljoints, as well as the steering rack.
A wheel spacer accomplishes the same difference without widening the wheel, which can mean less unsprung weight from wider tire and wider wheel with more metal that it would need to keep it as strong. Extra weight causes more wear outside of the intended radius from the balljoint (scrub radius). Wheel spacers are also lightweight billet aluminum and counteract some of the additional force by adding track width, however, they also add leverage to the suspension which makes it react like it is more compliant/softer.
Additional lift affords more clearance by simply distancing the tire down further from the body/frame. Just be aware that sway/g-forces will be more pronounced with the center-of-gravity for the entire vehicle being higher and distributing a proportionate amount of force to the distance raised. From your stock truck's centerline, anything above that point accounts for twice as much weight. Example: a spare tire mounted in the truck bed on a rack that weighs only 55-65 lbs on a scale would now act like it weighs 110-130 lbs when cornering fast or off-roading on a side hill.
    Pick your poison!o_O
I chose lightweight tires with size that fits with no cutting at full articulation and wheel spacers with stock wheels that kept weight low and added minimally to the scrub radius. I also kept my alignment as close to stock as possible, to keep tire wear down. I saw many folks get turned down for tire warranties because they had not gotten what was seen as an appropriate alignment within specifications. Specialty alignments are what they called them. Toyota would sometimes allow me to cover the costs but only if I was persistent. That came down to how the customer acted, to be honest.
    Wow! Lots of word-vomit....:puke:

Does it fit the hole exactly?

Just plug and go or did you have to do any mods?

If it comes lose I'll just re-tape it. I removed an oem spoiler off my BMW that cracked in the winter that had been on for 7 years and not only was it super difficult to get off but also the paint was fine, it was also attached with 3M tape. I had the weather tech bug deflector on my 2015 Tacoma and it mounted poorly plus gouged the paint. I'd rather have nothing but I already have one good rock chip and need something to protect the hood.

Sometimes, it comes down to tire and wheel dimensions: overall tire height, tread width, section width. The width of wheel may be skinnier than section width of tire and squeeze the tire which makes it taller. PSI has a similar effect by pushing out the tread center and causing the sidewalls to squeeze closer becoming taller.

I believe it is plug and play and fits the hole exactly. I've just ordered it and will let you know.
