Gotta get the Friends Advent Calendar. Found out this evening that my daughter wants it. I scored the City & StarWars ones already but passed on the other because I thought she'd gotten out of it. Thought wrong.

I did I just need the Brick Bank and the new one. I'm waiting to see what Black Friday will offer.

 

My favorite part of the bank was the simulated stain glass transom windows.
Very clever.

So I finally bought this. I wasn't impressed when it first came out, but now that I have a few other shuttles this would fit in nicely.

 

Anyone have a favorite seller of bulk pieces on BrickLink? Both of my go to sellers have retired.

 

I haven't bought any bulk pieces. I've only picked up sets. Ironically I've bought most of mine from the UK. Sure shipping isn't cheap but they seem to have what I want at good prices.

 

I bought allot of 9v train stuff, limited pieces for custom projects, and minifigs from there. It's a great place to get bulk pieces in new or limited release colors as well.

 

So I've been investigating Winter Village sets. I'm thinking that I'm doing at the wrong time. Those older sets are a lot higher than I thought. I have the 3 most current sets minus the train, I'll pick it up next month. So that's 3 I'm missing. Not sure it's worth the $600 it would take to get them.

Having a heart to heart with myself as to when I'm going to give my LEGO collection to the boy. I've collected over two million pieces and as a typical neat freak I've got them all sorted by color and then size. The only assembled kits and custom creations are from my 9v train days, but they are all put away as well. It's hard to let go of many rare and prized parts and assembled train stuff knowing that as a the kid and tinkerer that he is, most of it will be torn down once the handover happens.

 

Just hold on to them for a while longer. Buy him a few sets for him to explore Lego. Then when the time is right you can share the collection. Your son could very well be an AFOL too.

Plus I need to get that holiday train.

 

Been buying him sets from all over their product line and he really digs them all. Builds most of them with minimal to no help and really enjoys playing with them.
