Same as the other two. Go to bed as soon as I can. I eat breakfast at work before i leave so I don't eat so close to sleep.
the tricky part is my days off. It's unhealthy, but i'll just sleep 3 hours the day I get off and go to bed like a normal person the next two nights. then pull a long day on the day I go back in. It lets me feel like I'm still part of the normal world. And I get some sun and appointments in.

Not working tonight but these damn hrs got me like "you should be up cleaning house or something"

I compromized. Drinking some apple jim beam and messing around with my sim racer.


Traded in my 392 scat pack challenger for some porsch's and a new mustang for a few hours. Lol

I went last yr looking to get a 392 Charger, lets just say I hated the whole car buying thing brfore then & even more afterwards.

The bullshit you have to go through is unreal at times.

I hear you. I went thru that when I bought my tacoma back in late 2001. Never dobthat again.
Fortunately for me, this time....my good buddy at work...his wifes sister is married to the GM of Benson chrysler, ford, jeep.

Told my buddy to have him call me one morning after work.
Found what options I wanted from the dodge site and ordered to build this last march at the brampton plant in ontario, canada.

Ordered price was $48k. got it for $43k delivered. Tax, title destination. Everything.
They delivered the car 8 weeks later.
I cant tell you how freaking overjoyed I was not to go thru the hassle of haggling, stress, blah, blah ,blah.

So, i got to meet the GM who personally ordered my car and the salesguy who followed up with the sale. 2 of the most super cool people I have ever met in my life.

Going in for 2300, working 9 getting paid for 8. Historically, that second 1-2am gives us problems...

So, our 1 month turnaround just got extended an additional month. Turns out the 4 tube leaks we thought we had is over 30 now. We also may have cracked a tube inside the wall (the boiler was draining water through the wall, right where a major water header sits) so thats fun. And another guy just found some structural steel I beams twisted and broken. So we'll see how this goes. 2 months of OT means alot of shit getting paid off and a couple more toys added

A refinery in the bay area

Yeah we semi control the chemistry, being on the water side, our lab reslly gives zero fucks about it, they're more concerned with the hydrocarbon control side. We have onsite chemical vendors that are supposed to help with chemistry but really they just come by to go "yeah your blah was low yesterday" and 99% of the time its like PH or something that we can't control, and the other 1% is the shit we do control and we've already made moves to correct it. Our chemical control consists of 2 tanks, deoxygenator and anti scale, and we fill them daily, but the chemical levels are hand controlled and eyeballed through a sight class, so trying to keep stuff in spec inside the boiler is pretty hit or miss. If its low, "ehhhh throw in another couple inches of chemical in the sight glass" if its high, "ehhhh maybe a couple inches less" if its really high "ehhhhh just fill the tank with water today".

And our tube leaks IMO are because 9 months ago we were down from tubes leaks and upper management dubbed 34 bulging tubes as "not that bad", and within 5 months they apparently burst. At this point Im sitting back with a grin and money signs in my eyes whilst thinking about everything getting paid off lol

 

The quote of the decade at this refinery, concering our upper management is "jumping over a dollar to save a penny". Example, our unit that cleans our water up for the boiler (demin unit for those that understand) gets messed up like every other month, and instead of fumping money into fixing what needs to be fixed, my boss tells me they instead have a 2 million annual budget on rented deminerlization trailers that cost about 10k each and are delivered if we start running out of water because the unit cant keep up with water demand, and the trailers last about 24 hours at max load

 

50 minutes until my weekend starts. woot....now if i can stay awake on the road home. currently having issues with that now at the computer.

 

haha oh man I know that feeling. When I switched to overnights it was like that for a month or so.
drive is short, and i should fall asleep within 10minutes of getting home.
Problem this week has been constantly waking up 2 hours earlier than I want for no reason. I have no clue how i made it through the week.

 

10 more hours here. Then a day off an back for 3 days.
