So i have had this cap on for about 6 months now and i am really not sure if i like the look of it. overtime i look at it it reminds me of a work truck. what does every one think should i keep it? or take it off? or change something to make it look different?

Take it off, or at least put a rack up there

@TacoPretzel89 i was thinking a rack would make it look more rugged and less SUV like. i might try it if i can pick one up for a good price.

That is ENTIRELY up to you, who really cares what other people think? If you don't like it and/or it serves no purpose then take it off. I myself wouldn't just go by what everyone else thinks .. use your own judgement

    ^^ This ^^

IMO - caps are purely functional. I also happen to think they look good. If you bought it just for looks and you don't like how it looks, sell it.

Mine hasn't been taken off in almost 10 years. In fact the cap on any truck I've ever owned since the 1980's hasn't been taken off. If you use your truck like a motorized wheelbarrow then I can see not using one. Otherwise they are much more practical. I use my truck far more often to carry camping gear or other large items that need to be locked in a dry compartment than out in the open. But unlike an SUV I can haul trash or other dirty, messy stuff in the back and hose out the bed when finished.

The beds on these trucks aren't large enough, and load capacity is so small that you aren't going to put anything big or very heavy in the bed anyway. But mine is rated to tow 6500 lbs. I have a 5'X10' utility trailer that can haul more than I could fit in an 8' bed on a 3/4 ton truck with ease. It is easier to load and unload than a truck as well.

If you dont like it, you can take it off and give it to me :). Ill take it!!!!

But on a serious note, if you dont like it, then take it off for a week or so, and see if you like it better that way. If you do, then i would sell it, if you dont then i would keep it.

    Your choice.

But apparently you don't think you need one from a how-you-use-the-truck standpoint, or you wouldn't ask.

IMO I don't think your truck looks like a work truck, but I understand how you feel, I go through the same dilemma. What I do is put the cap on during the fall for camping and hunting. then in the spring I take it back off, and put it on a stand in my back yard. I love having mine on for traveling, hunting and camping.

I've always had mine on. I'm a contractor though, so it really is a work truck. I need to keep my tools dry, and I don't like to unload every day. Also, I surf here in SoCal, so I go to San Onofre, back up to the sand and I'm set. It provides a place to play guitars, nap, read, etc., all out of the sun.

I Voted to take it off, but... You should throw a roof rack system on it and hang it in the garage so you can use it in the future? Also, given configuration not having it on looks more like a truck than a 4Runner/wagon wannabe.

So I needed the cap for an assignment over the summer. It's been super functional but has also stopped me from putting certain things in the bed. I don't really have anywhere to store it so taking it on and off isn't really possible.

Not sure what to do with it for it for such a good price it seems a shame to just get rid of it
