Replaced wheel bearings... still rubbing noise...

I recently purchased wheel bearings and hubs assembly from bamaToy... Everything went in great however i still have the "bad wheel bearing" noise... coming from front passenger side... Not sure what else it could be....


Any help or idea's are appreciated

 

does it go away in 4wd?

 

No it doesnt matter 2 or 4wd

 

That doesn't necessarily rule out the driver side diff bearing...are yo 100% positive it's coming from the passenger side? Or does it just sound that way from the driver's seat?

 

Definitely, sounds like passenger side.... and still acts like a wheel bearing noise.... goes quiet when turning left ect ect

 

If it goes quiet when turning left, it's most likely your driver's side. When turning left, you are unloading the driver's side and the weight of the truck transfers over to the passenger.

edit: nevermind, you changed both wheel bearings, correct?

 

Did you replace both sides, or just the passanger?

 

Make sure your dust shield isn't dragging on your rotor before going berserker on tearing everything apart.

 

Have you replaced the diff bearing? In ten years it may have reached the point where you hear it in 4x4 too. I thought mine was a passenger side vibe at first.

 

My bad i mi spoke... it goes away when turning to the right.. not left... I only replaced the passenger side. Since it was giving all indications it was that side...

 

No i have not changed the Differential bearing..

 

Considering the price of wheel bearings, I would go the cheapest route first.

You can replace your needle bearing yourself for about $40. If that doesn't work, it's likely your other wheel bearing.

 

I kinda treat wheel bearings like radiator hoses or wiper blades...if one is bad, replace both, since they have the same age and mileage on them, so If one has gone bad, the other isn't too far behind.

 

The driver side wheel bearing is the most common bad bearing. Change that first then look at the diff bearing.

You sure it's not a mis-aligned brake caliper causing a brake pad to drag?

 

those two things sounds totally different....

 

Just replaced my driver's side bearing at 110K. Thought it was tire noise till it quieted when changing lanes to the right. Only one of the bearing races was trashed inside it when disassembled.

 

It was the drivers side bearing even though ll indications pointed to passenger again.. Time to order another hub from Jerseyhubs thanks all for the quick replies!!!
