Front End Stuff

I decided to devote my day off to work on my truck yesterday..

I intended on:

Painting my radiator and back surroundings
Finally doing the BHLM
Install my black emblems onto the truck
Install my new Grillcraft
Relocating my horns

I figured it should be a pretty easy day.. Right?

Nope, everything that could go wrong.. did.

But to save you all my headache, Ill skip to the main point.

Once I had all the parts removed, the clouds rolled in, the temp. dropped about 10 degrees, and it started to drizzle!!!



Well, obviously I don't want my naked front end to be dumped on all day to i hurried to reassemble my truck. Took me about 3-4 hours to get my trucks front end completely taken apart and put back together.

Below is a picture before i had removed the bumper bar, horns, T-Brackets, and some other minor stuff that was still in the way. Sorry about the quality, I had to use me cellphone to take the pic.


Anyways, By the end of the day i was a bit frustrated that I did all that work just to have it start raining on me. Though, On the plus side I now know how to take apart most of my front end..



(Only one tree-cap was harmed in the process of doing this)
(But it was quickly replaced by a new one)

That sucked that it started to rain. But now you can start over.

And it will be done quicker now that you know how to take everything off.

 

I have a garage, I spent 2 hours cleaning it out before starting this just to find out it wont fit in it.. It sticks out by about 3 feet.

AND I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE LONG BED!!!

I have tarps, But I figured rain weather wouldn't be the best weather to be painting stuff in..

It looked like it was going to be a nice day yesterday, but I was wrong..

I'd have just let it get wet... it's a truck... it'll be fine.

well from your original post you werent working on the rear 3 feet of the truck anyway..

 

Haha, Yeeah I considered that option. Lol

I'm not THAT special...

I just figured Id get a better finish if the conditions weir right. I don't want to do anything to my truck unless its done the right way the first time around. I decided to wait until a nice sunny day with temps. around the mid to high 70's before i go ahead and paint anything on the truck.

Which really shouldn't be that hard, seeing as how I live in So-Cal.
