Nope, they mount fairly easily. If I had to do it again though, I would buy the kayak mounts that fold down when not in use. They are about $50 dollars more though.

I generally carry two kayaks too, one strapped to this rack and the other flat using some foam kayak pads. The only drawback is I also have two bike carriers up there, so if I am taking bikes and boats on a trip, it can get crowded up there.

My wife says I have to much shit. Whatever . . . . I'll find room for my toys.

By the way, have I mentioned how much I love my Prinsu rack. This thing is baller!!!

Yeah I was in the group buy in march! Just getting around to installing mine lol! My daughter is almost 2 and just haven't had the time!! I put it together yesterday and planning on installing it today!! Gotta mount my light bar too. I met a member on here that had a front runner rack but I like the prinsu design better! Better mounting options and very versatile! I think I'm probably going to get the kayak mounts that lay down! I going to love mine too!! Mans gotta have their toys!! @tacotim448

Tried to read through all of the pages but figured it would be faster to just ask

How is everyone locking their recovery ramps and fuel tanks? The Plano I'm not worried about since it's bolted on the inside then locked but I'm worried about theft on the ramps and tank.

So my cabrac came in on Tuesday night. Got it installed Saturday thanks to some help from a couple of my buddies. It's a two or three person job getting it on the truck. Just as an FYI some of the mounting holes on my truck were definitely not in the center of the rail. Strongly advise careful measurements when doing the weather stripping steps. I used blue painters tape a carpenters square to help mark things. We ended up doing a side ways capital H over the hole to mark the center. Worked perfectly. Also the 3/4 punch was definitely worth it. We had no issues but it was a bit tedious making sure we got things lined up right. Two engineers and a carpenter we probably over engineered things. Side 2 went much quicker. Aside from taking extra time on the weather stripping all in all the install went pretty quick and easy.

The shark-fin on the back was not an issue at all. In fact there's room between it and the last cross rail. Mine's a late 2015.
I got a little bit of wind noise above 50 but not too bad. Kind of expected it. I'm going to move the deflector around and see if it helps.

Folks this thing is rock solid and it looks great! I already got few compliments and it's only been 24 hours.
Zach did a great job building these. Thanks Zach!

I have the folding Kayaks but probably won't use them till the ski season is over. Did you use the tracks to mount them, or did you use the clamps?

Which light bar did you go with? I have yet to install one as I'm not sure what I want up there. Also don't want to buy one that cost as much as the rack itself.

Clamps, so that I can remove them quickly and easily. For instance, I had to park in a parking garage at the VA hospital last week and just jumped out and removed them within a couple of minutes.

I got mine from autoanything! It's a 40inch Single Row Race Sport Spot and Flood Combo. I think mine was on sale for about 320.00 free shipping!! It's pretty bright. No wind noise at all. Single Row is the way to go. Retrofit Source has a good deal on a 40 inch single row!

So I got my long bed top rack today. I read through the install instructions but didn't see these 4 plates mentioned in there at all. What are they used for?

On some shells you will need them for the front and rear mounting feet to get it to sit level. Usually ARE shells need them. LEER and snugtop do not.

Looks great. I got the rack on my cab solo. Truck was freshly washed and I draped a blanket on the cab to assist while I lined it up on the spacers.

I see you didnt trim off the excess fairing weather stripping either. At first I thought it looked funny but now I'm cool with it. Nice color Tacoma.
